Title: The Wrong Witch to Hex With
Series: Moonshadow Cove #1
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Mystery
Format: Audiobook
Published: May 29, 2025
Where I Got It: Audible

Summary:
As the youngest of three sea witch sisters, Linney Seaworth lives a secluded existence in her family’s secret cottage on Moonshadow Cove, the far side of Starfall Point. Together, the Seaworths wield magic derived from the surrounding waters to keep the human population safe from paranormal threats. But Linney has always longed for a more adventurous life ... which is exactly what she gets when handsome newcomer Gray Brockhurst shows up on the Island.

Gray just inherited one of Starfall’s oldest ghost tour companies. Even though he’s never believed in ghosts, he’s continuing the family business to honor his late grandfather, who relished in sharing the island’s lore. But Gray is thrown for a loop when a lovely local interrupts his tour and changes his entire world view. Apparently, ghosts are all too real, and he’s been offending them with inaccurate stories during his “performances.”

But soon the Seaworths face a bigger A deadly enemy has been unleashed, and it’s unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. As Linney and Gray work together to stop it, the attraction brewing between them just might be the most powerful magic of all.

Review:
I've been DYING to continue in this world. I enjoyed the original series so I was excited to check out this spin-off.

Here we follow Linney and Gray. Linney is the youngest of her sisters and has been overly protected and sheltered by her older sisters. They live in a secret cottage on Moonshadow Cove which is on the far side of Starfall Point. Together they keep their little haven hidden from the human population and safe from paranormal threats. Linney longs for more. When she sneaks to town, she comes across Starfall Point's newest resident...Gray. After his grandfather's passing, Gray is taking up the mantle and running his Ghost Tour business. Gray doesn't believe in ghosts, but he wants to honor his grandfather and live in Starfall Point. When Linney opens his eyes to the paranormal world. He can't go back. But there is a threat that they will have to work together to uncover and save Starfall Point and Moonshadow Cove.

I highly recommend reading the original series first. Lots of references are tossed in here. Sure, you could attempt, but I feel like you would missing some key things if you don't read the original first.

Awwww we are back BABY!!! I love this little town. I love the residents. I might be slightly biased because this is set in Michigan. I'm a sucker for books set in my home state. ;)

Linney was adorable and sweet. Gray has a big heart and I hated his family. He deserves ALL the love. *mutters about greedy mfers and terrible people*

I enjoyed following the mystery and learning the secrets. It was fun! The baddie was certainly bad and it is just the beginning. More will follow especially with a certain event at the very end. No spoilers from me!!

Now...I will complain that the romance element seemed slightly neglected here. We rarely got to see our couple fall in love. Sure you can the see the lust, but it just fell flat. We needed more. Maybe a date or two? Things happened so quickly!

The narrators are amazing. I'm so glad they came back for this spin off! It just wouldn't fee the same without them.

In the end, I did enjoy this a lot. I do wish we had more romance. It felt rushed and we didn't get to really see these two fall in love. Maybe we'll see it more in the next book? Lots of action. Lots of ghosts. Lots of humor. And there is love there. I'll give this 4 stars.

Audiobook Review: Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper

Narrator: Amanda Ronconi
Title: Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors
Series: Jane Jameson #4/Half-Moon Hollow #4
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Urban Fiction, Fantasy, Humor
Pages: Audiobook
Published: February 28, 2012
Where I Got It: Audible

Summary:
Just as Jane Jameson's unlife seems to be stabilizing, fate sinks its fangs firmly into her butt. Despite her near-phobia of wedding planning, her no-frills nighttime nuptials to her sexy boyfriend, Gabriel, are coming along smoothly. That is, until she turns a fatally wounded teenage acquaintance, and the Council pronounces her responsible for the newborn vamp until he can control his thirst.

Jane's kitchen barely holds enough Faux Type O to satiate the cute teen's appetite and maintain Gabriel's jealous streak at a slow simmer. As if keeping her hyperactive childe from sucking the blood out of the entire neighbourhood isn't enough to deal with, the persnickety ghost of Jane's newly deceased grandma Ruthie has declared war on the fanged residents of River Oaks. Suddenly choosing monogrammed cocktail napkins and a cake she can't even eat seems downright relaxing in comparison.

Tensions inside the house are growing...and outside, a sinister force is aiming a stake straight for the center of Gabriel's heart. Most brides just have to worry about choosing the right dress, but Jane fears that, at this rate, she'll never make it down the aisle for the wedding all nice girls dream of...

Review:
Been slowly....SLOWLY going through this series. Not because it isn't good, but....you know how it goes. So many books, so little life.

We are back at it with Jane trying to make her way through her new vamp-y life. Her and Gabriel are starting wedding planning and things seem to be going A-OK. No baddies trying to kill them....she's getting along with the majority of her family.....her friends are happy and safe.....the bookstore is making a profit. Everything comes crashing down when she saves a fatally wounded teenager she knows by turning him. On top of taking care of this newbie vamp, she has to deal with her grandma's ghost wrecking havoc, and someone wanting revenge. Will she and Gabriel make it to the wedding day in one piece?

This is the last of the series! *cries* I love Jane! I'm happy that this isn't the last in this world so that helps my heartache a bit, but will we see Jane again? Who knows (if you know please say yes).

I actually warmed up to Gabriel here. Weeeee! Do I think Jane can do better? Yes, but maybe I'm a protective mama bear to my Jane. But yes, I've forgiven him and I like him. It's taken 4 books, but I'm here and ready for the wedding.

I warmed up to Jane's sister too. OMG. I was shocked that she was actually cool and they are friends now.

Grandma Ruthie (slight spoiler if you didn't read the summary) is now a ghost and still a dang B word. Poor Jane.

Honestly....I think this was my favorite book out of all 4. Yes, no think, it was. I really enjoyed this and I never wanted it to end. I loved seeing a lot of strings of story get nicely tied up. The author did leave a little room if she ever wanted to add more to this series, but it was nicely done. I'm curious to see what is going to happen with what Dick did (won't spoil this...it's a twist and surprise). Maybe we'll see that event in a different book in the world. OoooOOooooo

The narrator is fantastic as always. I could listen to her forever. She is great and knows how to really bring these characters to life. Even the dudes!!! She is one of my favorite lady voices.

All-in-all, the series was a lot of fun. This was my favorite book of the series and I want to re-listen to it someday. Funny, fun, adorable, great. Weeee. 5 stars.

Summary:
Alice Seastairs leads a quiet life working in her grandparents’ antique shop and hiding her magical secret from the human world. As one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, it’s her job to protect the Island from dark magic and unruly ghosts—including the ones that show up at her shop attached to antiques. But her orderly life is turned upside down when a gorgeous stranger buys the islands most historic—and haunted—hotel.

There’s something about Collin Bancroft that that makes Alice want to muss his polished exterior and find out what’s underneath his expensive suit. But romance will have to wait, because his hotel is being haunted by a ghost so dangerous that Alice’s whole coven must step in. Turns out, a supernatural event is unfolding that’s bigger than any of them ever imagined—and it’s about to blow the secrets of Shaddow House wide open. Will Alice and Collin survive long enough to have a future together?

Review:
Waaah! I have been dying to get my hands on this. I even pre-ordered it ;) I rarely pre-order books but I was sooo excited for this one.

Alice has lead a quiet life working in her grandparent's antique shop until she joined a Witch Coven and everything changed. It's now her job to protect Starfall from dark magic and unruly ghosts. Things get even more upside down when Collin comes to town. Collin wants to make something of himself and step out of his family's rich shadow. He buys the town's most historic and (unknown to him) haunted hotel. The two team up to redo the hotel, but there is a ghost so dangerous that Alice and her coven must step in and Collin gets dragged into the fray.

SIGHS I am sad that this is the last of the series. There is going to be a spin-off set in the same world, but sadly our time with this group of gals is over. I love them! I hope we get to see them in the spin-off. One day I will have to re-read this series. Not only was this a fun series, but I simply adored that this took place in Northern Michigan! :D :D Brings me joy.

The drama and mystery was exciting! I had no idea what was going to happen next. I was right on ONE theory, but the rest? Unsure. Lots of twists and turns.

Ooooooh Collin. The boy needs therapy. I feel so bad for him but after a certain scene I would have issues with trusting him too for a while. Spoiler...not spoiler....he does redeem himself and does the right thing. Good job.

Alice is a gem and I was annoyed that she was so scared of telling the coven her secret. It wasn't even a big deal. Maybe I would've felt the same, but seeing it from my POV....girl just tell them.

F her grandparents. They need to be kicked out of town. Maybe no one will go to their stupid shop once word gets around. Maybe they'll go bankrupt and be forced to leave. One can hope!

I think what I loved most about this book and the series as a whole is that yessss there is romance and steamy parts. And it is set in Michigan. BUT I loved seeing them grow and develop. I love watching them build their own family and community. So many of these guys had a shitty family, but watching them come together? Friendships, family, platonic love, and romantic love? What more can you ask for? Plus ghosts! *chef kiss*

The narrators made this series even more magical. Great narrations and they work well together.

All-in-all, I def recommend this. You need to read the first two books first. There is a lot of backstory and events that led up to this one. I want to re-read this series again someday. 5 out of 5.

Format: Audiobook

Summary:
The lost love that’s always haunted her is about to make an unexpected return....

Caroline Wilton has no time for romance. She’s too busy running her family’s bar to even think about dating. She’s also one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, responsible for keeping the local ghost population in check.

But even the most magical of witches can use a shoulder to lean on, which is what happens when Ben Hoult, the handsome doctor she never quite got over, walks back into her life. Ben is a single dad now, and as he and Caroline reconnect, they discover that they both have a knack for helping and protecting the people near and dear to them.

Soon they’re working together to unravel a centuries-old murder, and Caroline has to face the wrath of angry ghosts...and the uncertainty of opening her heart back up to love. She’s not sure which one is worse. All she knows is that keeping her heart safe will take every ounce of magic she’s got.

Review:
Couldn't resist starting book 2!!! I liked book 1 so much and Harper is always great for relaxing my brain. It's been stressful in the life of Carole lately.

Okieee here we have Caroline and Ben. Back in the day they were young and in love. However, Caroline let him go so he could go to college and follow his dream. Why not go with him? Well, her family is cursed to remain on the Island. If they are gone over 24 hours they tend to have a little accident and die. Years down the line to the present. Ben is a successful doctor with two kids. He recently divorced his wife and is ready for a quiet life as a small-town doctor so he moves back to his hometown. Caroline has been single and ready to mingle and feeling lost until she falls into a witch coven. Her and her coven help ghost. Ben and Caroline reconnect but nothing is simple especially with a murderous ghost running around.

Ummmmmmmmm where is book 3? I'm ready LOL.

This was fun. Loved Caroline. Loved Ben. Loved his kids. Loved her coven. I LOOOOOOVE this town. I would def move there in a heartbeat. Ugh Caroline's family made me angry...esp the lazy brothers and her dad. Yes, yes. I get that the one brother died a few years back after tempting the curse, but that is no excuse for making Caroline and the mom do ALL the work at the restaurant/bar. Grieve, yes, but neglecting your responsibilities? No. GAH.

OOOO and Ben's ex? Screw her. She was a jerk and selfish and mean. Those kids are good kids and deserve a mom like Caroline.

All the twists were fun!! I loved the mystery of the ghosts and the possible connection between one of the ghosts and Caroline's family's curse. That was nice.

Loved the ending! It was sweet and it made me need more.

Great narration as per normal. They do Harper's work justice.

Mmmmm.....what else?

Always a blast. I would def say read book 1 first. Lots of backstory.

In the end, I am def loving this series. This one was good. I'll give it 5 stars.

Audiobook Review: Witches Get Stuff Done by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Narrator: Amanda Ronconi, Teddy Hamilton
Title: Witches Get Stuff Done
Series: Starfall Point #1
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy
Format: Audiobook
Published: September 5, 2023
Where I got It: Audible

Summary:
Juggling newfound witchy powers, a house full of ghosts, and verbal battles with the handsome local librarian is almost too much for a new witch to manage. A new witch with a coven, however, can get so much more done...

From the moment Riley Everett set foot in Starfall Point, magic bubbled inside of her. But with only her late aunt's journals and a cantankerous live-in ghost butler to instruct her on all things witchy—including her newly inherited Victorian haunted house—Riley seeks out a coven for sisterhood and support. The last person she expects to be drawn to is the town's frustrating, yet ridiculously attractive head librarian.

Edison Held knows almost everything there is to know about Starfall Point, but Shaddow House was always off-limits, thanks to its elusive owner. If he can convince the new owner, Riley, to let him take a peek inside, there's so much he could learn. But as he gets closer to Riley, he's fascinated by her dazzling wit and fiery spirit. Edison will do whatever he can to help Riley keep her family legacy alive, especially if it means spending more time with the captivating new witch in town.

Review:
I knew I had to get my hands on this. Witches, Ghosts, Molly Harper, and Michigan????? YAS.

Here we follow Riley and Edison. Riley finds herself inheriting a very haunted Victorian house after her Aunt passes away. Riley has these new powers and new responsibilities with only her aunt's journals and a cranky ghost butler to help her on this new journey. And there is that frustrating but ridiculously attractive head librarian....Edison. Edison hopes he can convince the new owner of the Shaddow House to let him take a peek inside the mysterious house.

This was simply adorable. I loved, loved, loved this story. Maybe I'm biased since it is set in Michigan and it made me giggle whenever a Michigan reference was given. eeee. Plus...Molly Harper is always fun.

Loved our characters. Edison is a sweetie. Riley is a gem. Her two new friends? Loved them too and I can't wait to read Caroline's book which is next in the series. Awwww and that butler was adorably grumpy and fatherly. Cute. Now....my only issue was how quickly Caroline was onboard with everything. At least Edison fainted! Caroline was oddly....okay. Did seem realistic. Granted, magic is involved but still. Too quick.

The narrators are always fun. We have two narrators here. One for Riley's POV and one for Edison's. His voices for girls are always just okay, but he has such a deep voice so it's hard I'm sure. Her voices are always good. I wish she changed up her female voices a bit more.

All-in-all, so much fun. This was adorable. Fun setting, fun characters, fun concept. And that house is amazing even with ALL the ghosts. Can't wait for book 2! In the end, I'll give this 4 stars.

Type-A Margot Cary is the leading event planner for the crème de la crème of Chicago high society. No request is too extravagant for her to execute with trademark perfection. That is, until an unfortunate incident involving a shrimp tower, live flamingos, and a shellfish allergy puts her on the black list of the rich and social and out of a job. With the lights about to be shut off in the trendy condo she can no longer afford, and her savings account dwindling, Margot’s situation is near to desperate.

In steps her birth father’s side of the family (who she’s never met), the McCreadys…the McCreadys of the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop in small town Georgia—and as luck would have it, they’re looking for an event planner and don’t care about her reputation among the A-list crowd. As Margot tackles small town life—where everyone knows everything about everyone—and builds a relationship with a father who she’d never known, she discovers the comforts that community, a rather large extended family, and a rugged, unpretentious country man can offer...

Review:
I adore this author. Her books are so much fun so I couldn't resist checking this one out!

Margot Cary had it all...she was the leading event planner for Chicago high society. She was good...no great at her job. However, things fall apart after an unfortunate incident involving a shrimp tower, live flamingos, and a shellfish allergy that puts her on the blacklist of the rich...so she is out of a job. With no job, no money, and about to lose her home...she is desperate. In steps in her birth father's side of the family to help. She has never met them. They bring her in to work at their McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop in a small town in Georgia. She accepts, but soon she'll discover small-town life isn't for the weak-hearted and a rugged, unpretentious countryman....

Okay....I did not like Margot. There...I said it. It's been bugging me and feels nice to get it off my chest.

She is just so unlikeable. When she gets there she is just rude and snippy and whiney. Sure she is struggling with the whole losing-her-dream-job thing and being abandoned by her dad. I GET it for sure. I can understand her sadness and pain...but OMG was she a broken record. There were some parts I had to skim over because I couldn't handle her.

This family literally has been nothing but nice to her. Brought her over, got her a gig, a home, and been very understanding. Literally, everything was just handed to her. Yes, the townsfolk were unsure about her (with reason) at first and judgy. It's a small-tight-knit-town. What did you really expect Margot??????

But yesss Margot just annoyed me. She DOES get a touch better as the story goes on, but it's hard for me to like her even when she got better.

Man...I wish I had liked Margot more so I could've enjoyed the story more. There are so many people who gushed about this on Goodreads and I'm just the grumpy toad over here. Oh no! I'm turning into Margot!!!!

*mutters to self to think of the things I liked*

Loved the rest of the town and cast though. They were fun.

I want to read book 2 since it is about Frankie! Loveedddd her! Can't wait.

Kyle was a hunk. I liked that it was a slow burn and a sweet romance. I loved watching them become friends and then more. I could actually slightly tolerate her then.

The humor was there still so that was nice. Molly Harper sure does know how to write a cute romance with humor mixed in!

Overall, I had some major issues....mainly just my feelings for Margot....but this had its moments. Between a cute romance and some funny parts, I was able to finish this. I even warmed up SLIGHTLY to Margot by the end. This is a fun town and I can't wait to read book 2 which is about Frankie! 2 stars from me.

Audiobook Re-Review: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Narrator: Amanda Ronconi
Title: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs
(Jane Jameson #1) (Half-Moon Hollow #1)
Genre: Paranormal Romance, UF, Fantasy, Humor
Format: Audiobook
Published:  March 31st 2009
Where I got It: Audible

Summary:
Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Review:
This was my pick for book club. It was my turn to pick a book I've read before and wanted my folks to read. Decided to relisten...because why not? I loved book 1.

Jane has lost her job and nearly her life. She wakes up as a vamp. And now it looks like someone is trying to frame her for a series of vamp murders in town. What is a girl to do?

Re-reading this and I loved it as much as I did the first time. I did the audio again...because I can't resist. The narrator is perfect! The author and the narrator are an epic duo!

Love Jane. I want her to be my bestie. Same with Zeb. Same with Dick. Love them. I am beginning to appreciate Gabriel more after reading some of the others and even re-reading this. I don't love him. But I have hope.

Gah I hate her granny and her sister. They need to be kicked in the face or something.

This is funny and cute and just plain fun. I loved re-reading it. It makes me want to finish up the series soon!!

In the end, I def recommend it. 5 stars again from me.

Book Review: Nice Girls Don't Live Forever by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Title: Nice Girls Don't Live Forever
(Jane Jameson #3)
Genre: Urban Fiction, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Humor, & Chick Lit
Format: ebook
Pages: 336
Published: December 7th 2009
Where I Got It: My shelf (Amazon)

Summary:
Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.

Now the children's-librarian-turned-vampire is reviving with plenty of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family, and her plans for a Brave New Jane. Step One: Get her newly renovated occult bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the impending birth of their baby...or litter. Step Three: Figure out who's been sending her threatening letters, and how her hostile pen pal is tied to Gabriel. Because for this nice girl, surviving a broken heart is suddenly becoming a matter of life and undeath....

Review:
Book 3! The previous books I did the audio version, but this time I decided to read the ebook instead.

We start off with Jane and Gabriel as they tour Europe. However, he has grown distant and acting suspicious. Jane decides to walk and leave him and goes back to the States to open her bookshop. Between her bookshop and the heartache of leaving Gabriel...she also is supporting her best friend and his werewolf bride while they prepare for the impending birth of their baby, figure out who sending threatening letters, and deal with her family.

Love Jane. She is sassy and funny. You can't help but adore her. She is a little spastic and neurotic so her narrative is a little weird...so sometimes I found myself re-reading certain parts. I didn't struggle with the other two as much as this one. Maybe it was because I was reading instead of doing the narration? Not sure.

Yes, I did find myself struggling here and there with this one especially near the end. About 65% I found myself having to force myself to read and NOT skim. I just wanted the mystery to come to a close. Plus I wasn't amused with Gabriel AT all.

Gah. Good ol' Gabe-a-rini. This made me loath him. I didn't like him much in the other books, but now I loath him. If he just trusted and communicated what was going on with Jane...then everything would be okay but NOOOO he has to be a big arsehat. Boo.

Dick is my favorite character along with his girlie. They are too dang cute.

We didn't see Zeb and his new bride too much. They are busy.

Grrr to Jane's sister and granny. Is it wrong that I hope the sister gets turned into a vamp? See how she likes it...............but then poor Jane would have an immortal life with her sister. *shudders*

Jane's mom is getting better. Bless her little heart. She is really leaning into the support group. I just wish she would get a backbone and support Jane against the sister and granny.

The mystery was pretty good. I was worried it was going to be cut-and-dry, but it became more complicated and there was a nice twist when all was revealed.

In the end...this was my least favorite of the series so far. I struggled around 65% because I just wanted the reveal and I was annoyed at Gabriel. I loath him right now. I think Jane deserves better. Maybe I'll jump back into the audio for the next. Yes, yes, I do want to read the next book, but I think a narrator helps with how spastic our lovable Jane is and it just brings these characters to life. BUUUUT I am biased because the narrator is Amanda Ronconi and she is amazing. The next book is the final one so yess I may jump back to audio to finish off the series. Now rating? Oh boy. I have been fighting myself for over a day.....I would say 2.5, but GR doesn't have decimals.....ummm...errrr....okay. I'll give it 3. I'll give it extra brownie points because of a scene that had me dying of laughter. Yes, yes 3 it is.

Audiobook Review: Farewell to Charms by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Narrator: Amanda Ronconi & Jonathan Davis
Title: A Farewell to Charms
(Mystic Bayou #6)
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller, Humor
Format: Audiobook
Published: January 13th 2022
Where I got It: Audible

Summary:
Eva Boudreaux keeps the truth about her life before arriving in Mystic Bayou a carefully guarded secret, flying under the radar as a talented boat mechanic. In the swampy little town filled with powerful supernatural beings, Eva never expected to strike up a charged flirtation with one of the Bayou’s human residents.

Alex Lancaster is far too polished for Eva’s taste - not to mention the danger that comes with his high-ranking position in the League, which could expose her secrets. Trouble is, she can’t resist his disarming sense of humor or the chemistry that crackles to life whenever he’s near. Will Alex be able to handle a woman like her? Or will her difficult past keep them apart?

Either way, they’ll need to join forces to solve one final mystery in Mystic Bayou. The fate of the town - and their hearts - depends upon it.

Review:
Had no idea another one was coming out. BUT I had hope because we had a couple people they introduced throughout the last books that I was rooting for. Didn't know if I thought they would get together or find someone else. I just wanted both to find loveeee.

Here we have Alex Lancaster who is polished and has a great job with the League. Then we have Eva who arrived to Mystic Bayou to find a new life and do what she loves....fixing things. She is guarded about her past and about her secrets. She never thought she'd find herself falling for not only a human, but someone like Alex.

It was adorable seeing past Alex's professional face. He is so awkward...I love it.

I love how awkward Eva was too.

They are so made for each other. It took them a minute to see past the lust and rejection fears to see it, but it was so worth the wait. They deserve all the love.

I also loved seeing Alex finally connect with everyone and actually become a friend. It was adorable seeing him realize he was precisely where he belongs and get some friends.

Grrr to both of their parents. They are jerks except for Alex's mom. Poor thing is caught in the middle.

I am curious if this is the last one? It had those feels. There really aren't any characters roaming about that I like and want to find love. Seems like everyone is now paired off? We shall see though! I wouldn't complain. I love this town and this world. So fun.

The narrators are back and still amazing. Yayy! They are perfect. I feel like our male narrator didn't get as much spotlight? The Alex POVs seemed shorter than Eva's?

I do wish we had more of a resolution between their families. There is a lot of hurt still lingering.

Other than that, I liked this! Lots of fun! Loved seeing Alex and Eva find love. 4 stars from me.

Audiobook Review: Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Narrator: Amanda Ronconi
Title: Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men
(Jane Jameson #2)
Genre: Paranormal Romance, UF, fantasy
Format: Audiobook
Published:  August 25th 2009
Where I got It: Audible

Summary:
With her best friend Zeb’s Titanic-themed wedding looming ahead, new vampire Jane Jameson struggles to develop her budding relationship with her enigmatic sire, Gabriel. It seems unfair that she’s expected to master undead dating while dealing with a groom heading for a nuptial nervous breakdown, his hostile werewolf in-laws, and the ugliest bridesmaid dress in the history of marriage.

Meanwhile, the passing of Jane’s future step-grandpa puts Grandma Ruthie back on the market. Her new fiancé, Wilbur, has his own history of suspiciously dead spouses, and he may or may not have died ten years ago. Half-Moon Hollow’s own Black Widow has finally met her match.

Should Jane warn her grandmother of Wilbur’s marital habits or let things run their course? Will Jane always be an undead bridesmaid, never the undead bride?

Review:
I adore this author's books!!! Finally got my hands on book 2!

Jane has a lot on her plate. Her best friend Zeb's wedding is around the corner. She is struggling to develop her budding relationship with Gabriel. Her family relationship is struggling. And things get more complex, when her future step-grandpa passes and Grandma Ruthie falls into the arms of Wilbur. The two become quickly engaged, but there is something up with Wilbur and he has own history of dead spouses.

Sighssssss....Jane needs to run away screaming from her family and Zeb's family and to-be family. They all suck! They are terrible!!!

I am also meh about Gabriel especially after this one. He is hiding something. He knows that Jane knows he is hiding something...why can't he tell her? They are dating. Maybe Jane can help?? I don't trust the boy as far as I can throw him.

This was hilarious and over-the-top. Sure....some parts did get over-the-top and annoyed the crap out of me. Like Jane's sister and granny. Screw them. I can't believe their mother and father are letting them treat Jane like that. I hope mom and dad step up soon.

I am curious to see what is next. There are a lot of ties left untied. Lots of drama and words left to say. I would love for Jane to get the support she needs from her family, but I don't see that happening. I also still don't trust Gabriel. For a man THAT old....he is dumb.

Narration sucked....just kidding. I adore this narrator so much! She fits all the characters perfectly and her voice puts a smile on my face. One of my favorites for sure.

In the end, this was a fun continuation from book 1. You will need to read book 1 since I can't imagine reading this without all the knowledge and events from previously. There was some too over-the-top bits...like Zeb's mama....but I enjoyed it. I do hope Gabriel is redeemed in the next book. I'll give this 3 stars.

Audiobook Review: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper

Review:
This author for sure has me hooked to her books AND this narrator rocks....I'm addicted ;)

Jane is a children's librarian and self-professed nice girl.....until she is fired by her terrible boss and handed a 25$ gift card instead of a severance check. She goes on a drinking bender that goes south when she is mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. Thanks to a mysterious stranger she met at the bar, she wakes up as a vamp and will have to alter her lifestyle and try to find a new job all at the same time. Add onto that she can see her aunt's ghost AND someone is out for her blood.

This was a lot of fun!!!! I really adored Jane. I wish she was my friend! I would take her dead or alive as a friend. She is sweet and funny and we would have a load of fun talking about books and history and all of that. Cute!

Grrrrr her granny and mom can take a hike. BOOO on them!!!! *shakes fist*

Gabriel....mmmm....I'm on the fence with him so far. I guess we'll see how he is in book 2.

I liked her bestie Zeb and his new gal. They are an adorable couple!

I like Dick. That is Dick Cheney. LOL Not that old politician. He was a hoot. No - no I do NOT want a love triangle. I just want Jane and Dick to be pals. I hope he finds a good girl who ISN'T Jane. *fingers crossed* I smell a love triangle and I would not be happy with that.

OOOooOOooOOOoo that twist on the baddie was fabulous. I had zero idea on who was doing what and why!!!

No issues. I loved this book. The narrator kicked ass. I adore her. She is def top 3 on my list! She makes all the characters come to life. I love her accents!!! They are spot on.

Overall, this was a hoot. Funny and cute. I can't wait for book 2. MORE JANE PLEASE!!! This is the heroine all of us would love ;) 5 stars from me.

Audiobook Review: Shifters in the Night by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Narrator: Amanda Ronconi & Jonathan Davis
Title: Shifters in the Night
(Mystic Bayou #5)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Format: Audiobook
Published: May 18th 2021
Where I got It: Audible

Summary:
A chance meeting leads to a wild ride in this irresistible audio-first romance by Audie Award-nominated author Molly Harper!

Lia Doe came to Mystic Bayou for one simple reason: to get her job done. Namely, to build a housing complex for all the new residents flocking to town since word of its supernatural population got out. But from the moment Lia arrives, it’s clear that nothing about the job is going to be simple.

First, there’s the mysterious guy she meets in the middle of the night while they’re both cavorting in their alternate forms. Spending time with shape-shifters is nothing new to Lia, but there’s something special about Jon Carmody…and the magical pull she feels whenever he’s near. There’s also a sense of homecoming and belonging in Mystic Bayou that makes her want to stick around - despite the dangers brewing from mysterious forces.

Will Lia complete her project with her heart unscathed, or will her life shift forever?

Review:
I can't get enough of this series!!!! Makes me jump for joy whenever a new one comes out.

We follow Lia Doe and Jon Carmody. Lia is new to Mystic Bayou. She came for one reason and one reason only and that is to do her job. She is building new housing complex for all the new residents flocking to town. After meeting a mysterious guy, she realizes she wants to spend more time with him and maybe...stay in town. Jon has been a hermit for a long time after his accident, but Lia makes him want to join the world again.

This was fun! I adored Lia and Jon. They were unlikely lovers, but they matched perfectly. Such a sweet romance. There was a little bit of drama but it was worked out pretty quickly especially when they actually communicated. Loved it. I do wish we got to see her parents meet him. I feel like they still have issues they will need to resolve. They are polar opposites and her mom is a snob (I think her dad will be polite and nice) and will be rude. I do want a short story or something seeing them find a nice balance in life.

The mystery was fun. A touch easy to guess, but I enjoyed it. People are insane!! I honestly believe this is not over. That baddie will be back.

The narrators are great. They really enhance the story and the characters. I hope they continue narrating future stories.

Overall, I'm still enjoying the series. Her writing is so fun and I adore this town! Curious to see what is going to happen next. I'll give this 4 stars

Book Review: The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires by Molly Harper

Author: Molly Harper
Title: The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires
(Half-Moon Hollow #1)
Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, UF
Format: ebook
Pages: 384
Published: July 31st 2012
Where I Got It: Borrowed from library

Summary:
Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow’s only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she’d like. Running all their daylight errands—from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg—gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship—and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.

Cal - who would be devastatingly sexy, if Iris allowed herself to think that way - offers Iris a hefty fee for hiding him at her place until he figures out who wants him permanently dead. Even though he’s imperious, unfriendly and doesn't seem to understand the difference between "employee" and "servant," Iris agrees, and finds herself breaking more and more of her own rules to help him - particularly those concerning nudity.

Turns out what her quiet little life needed was some intrigue & romance—in the form of her very own stray vampire.

Review:
I've had my eyes on this one for a bit since I started reading/listening to this author's work. Found this at my library's ebook station the other day so yayy!

The story follows Iris who is the daytime vamp concierge. She knows more about the undead than she'd like, but money is money and she has a younger sister to take care of. Things seem to be going normal until she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor nearly dead...re-deard? Cal is devastatingly sexy and rich. He offers Iris a huge amount of money to hide him at her place until he/they can figure out who wants him forever dead. He's sexy, but he is for sure unfriendly and imperious.

Gotta love this author! She really knows how to make romances fun! She really did a wonderful job with giving this overused romance trope (vamp dude and human gal) and making it feel fresh and new. So much fun!

Cal was a grump, but he is SUPER old and has been around for a long time so I get his meh attitude with humans. Esp since the great coming-out a few years previous lead to a lot of his kind being killed by dumb humans.

Grr humans. Yes, yes, humans can't handle the unknown and new. Sure, it's been a few years now, but I would not forgive or trust them either if I was Cal.

But I loved Iris and her sister. They are one of the few. Sure, Iris is very wary about the vamps she does not know, she does not hate them.

Her sister was hilarious! I believe she has a later book. I want her to find love when she is grown.

This world is fun and I am curious to read on. *goes on Goodreads* Okay - I am tempted to read book 2. It sounds like fun! Seems to be about a witch. Fun!

The mystery was pretty good. Wasn't quite sure on the who and why, but I had my guesses. Close but not close enough ;) I wasn't crazy about how everything ended. Don't get me wrong...it was good, but I felt like it was missing something. Can't put my finger on it...

Overall, I enjoyed it. I do want more! I'll give this a 4! This series has potential!
