Murderbot is King of the bots!!!!!

Here we go again! Murderbot has volunteered to run a rescue mission. However, there will be a lot of humans that Murderbot will need to spend time with including...human children. 

Awwwwww I forgot how much I loved Murderbot. He is so funny and grumpy. So adorable. 

I think I really needed this!!! Honestly, I've been in a bit of a slump in July. A couple of pretty good 4 stars reads, but mainly 3 and 2s. Not sure why, but I needed this one! Thank you, Murderbot, for being the hero I needed. 

So funny. So intense. So good. 

I did miss ART, but it was nice seeing poor Murderbot with all these humans. Murderbot is a grumpy angel. 

The narrator is perfection. Great voices for all, especially for our main! He is great. I def recommend the audio versions. Sure, the printed word is good, but there is something about this narrator that really just fits and helps the story. 

I may have to go back and read some of the shorts to keep me entertained until the next book releases. I hope we don't have to wait too long for it!!

Review:

Been itching to get to book 2. Originally I was waiting for it to arrive from the library, but I couldn't wait, so I used an Audible credit to get a copy asap. The wait at the library was willllllllllllllld.

We are back at Briar. This time we are with Logan, who is trying to get over his crush anyway he can. Enter in Grace. There is more than a spark between them, and Logan messes up by saying something dumb. He realizes Grace is everything he has ever wanted, so he has to get her back. 

Oh sweet, sweet Logan. You are so sweet but yet so dumb. Bless his lil heart. I'm so glad Grace made him work really hard to get her back, because she deserves the best of the best. Logan IS the best for her, but that work was good for him lolll. 

Ugh Logan's backstory kills me. I feel so bad for him and his brother. :/

That ending scene before the epilogue! Oh, my heart!

I ended up doing the audio this time around. Our male voice was great. The female voice? Ehhhhhhh not so much. I did warm up to it, but it took a while

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this one. I liked Grace, and I liked Logan. It was very sweet watching them go from just hooking up to more. I liked watching them grow and learn. I can't WAIT for Dean's story!!!!! 4 stars from me.

Review:

Randomly found this little one, so why not? I needed something short and something thriller-y. 

Here, we follow Marti, who has just moved into a new home after a bitter divorce from her husband, Emery. She wants to be done with him, but he took some of her most cherished possessions. Days after she moved in, Marti is attacked and left shaken and beaten. She never saw the face of her attacker, and her ex has a strong alibi. There is little to go on, and the detectives have pretty much given up. Marti will do whatever it takes to find her assailant so she can finally have peace. 

This was a quick listen, and I was thankful. I needed something quick. 

Poor Marti.. I just want her to be happy and safe. 

Her ex is an ass. 

The one neighbor is a creep. 

Her one friend pissed me off. 

The mystery/thriller was intense but slightly predictable. HOWEVER, the resolution was great. It was good. I literally smiled. *clap*

Narration was good. She did a fine job overall. A lot of the women's voices sounded a bit familiar, so you have to pay attention.

All-in-all, this was good and intense. I'll stamp this with 3 stars.

Review:

Yayy book 3.

Here we follow Gwen and Sam. They are just two strangers who sit next to each other on a long bus ride. Instead of sitting in silence, they end up chatting and enjoying themselves. Playing road-trip games, avoiding calls from Sam's mom, and clockwatching. Everything is going great until the bus breaks down. They both have to get to town asap, so they work together to get there. Could these seatmates be soul mates?

This is slightly tied into the other books. They mention a character from book 1, but otherwise this would do okay as a standalone. I'm a sucker for this series, so I highly encourage reading the other two books first. 

I do wish that we had more of a connection with the other characters. Maybe see them in the epilogue? 

This was adorable, and I liked it. I loved their conversations and their journey. Our mains are so sweet and so perfect for each other. The chemistry was there from the moment they said hi. I wish we had more....heat. Like a splash more. Maybe an accidental kiss or something. But it's supposed to be clean, so I get it.

Loved the full cast of narrators here. They were all perfect, and I'm a sucker for Amanda Ronconi!!! She is just so good. 

Overall, I enjoyed this, and I loved the series. I hope we get another book. Maybe this couple will pop up in the next one. But yes, 100% recommend all three books. 4 stars.

Review:

Picked this up randomly when I saw the title! It fits a reading challenge, and plus it has been ages since I read a Historical Romance. 

Here we follow Jacinda and Crispin. He is the new Duke and has to take care of his sisters, but his mind is still haunted by the war's events, so he's been drinking and man-whoring around town. However, he needs a new governess since his prankster sisters made the last one quite rather quickly. Enter Jacinda. She is undercover to search for evidence against Crispin. There are rumors that he is a traitor. As time goes on, she starts doubting his guilt, but is she biased because she is falling for the man, or is he truly innocent?

This one was alright. It had it's shiny and fun moments, but I didn't buy the love story between these two. Lust? Heck yeah, but there was little love there from what I could see. They rarely spoke, and then Jacinda wasn't who she said she was. There was little time at the end for them to talk it through and really get to know each other.

Love a good lust, and the chemistry was lovely, but I didn't buy their love. Not even in the epilogue. 

Other than that, I still had a lot of fun with this story and seeing them fumble about. 

The narrator did a good job. His voices fit. 

Overall, this was just alright for me because I never felt the love. The lust and etc...that was great! The narrator was good. I just needed more talking. 3 stars.

Review:

Been itching to listen to this, but I had a couple of other audios I had planned first. I am loving this series so much. 

We are back with Mallory and the gang! They are called to a seance after a ghost demanded that Gray solve her murder. Problem? Is the former maid ACTUALLY dead or even missing? Even though they are skeptical, they agree to look into the matter. Even if there is no murder, they can call out a medium as a fraud.

EEEEEEE. Big steps are made in the Mallory-Gray love story. I was squealing like a schoolgirl. I won't say anything more, but big leaps have been made. In all the other books and novellas, there have been baby steps and crawls. Maybe a step back here and there, but things are really pushing! 

I NEED MORE!!!! When is the next book??? EEEEE!

All the EEEEEEs with this book. 

This might be one of my favorites of the series so far. The mystery was sooo good. I had zero idea what was going to happen. Who did what and why and when and so forth. All lovely. 

Lots of character growth and fun dialogue. 

And a surprise guest! I will say no more there. 

The narrator is amazing. I hope she continues the series. Her voice is the only voice I hear. 

5 stars 100%. Read the series.

I really enjoyed her books so I wanted to try this series too, and, well it was good, just not AS great as her other timetravel or her thriller books. Just like when I read her romance and it was meh.

Bronwyn inherits a house, a house that made her timetravel as a kid, a house that made her see ghosts. And so she goes back in time and this time meets the boy she played as a grown man. William is the owner of the manor house and townspeople find him weird and tell tales...

Something is going on. There is an angry ghost, scared ghosts. And Brownwyn is falling for William.

I did like it, but not as much. I could continue, but eh, I will rather use my credits on new things. As there are new people that time travels in the next one.

Thorne Manor has always been haunted...and it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. As a young girl, Bronwyn could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt’s house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. Reading this again! A couple of people I know read it, and it was calling me, so I downloaded it. 

Holly is dealing with big life stuff. John is getting over a bad breakup. John accidently put a card on her car meant for someone else. He is the worst wingman ever. Whoopsies. An amusing mistake soon turns into a lovely exchange of anonymous notes, little acts of kindness, and a growing affection between two strangers. 

Awwwwwwwwww this was so sweet. I loved Holly and John. 

I loved the gifts. The notes. The dog.

The sad moments were sad but beautiful at the same time. 

There is some humor, but it felt real. 

AND THAT SECRET? How did I forget???

Great narrators. 

Great short. Now I kinda wanna read the rest of the series..............

Review:

This was my pick for book club!

Here we follow Milla and Ben. Ben is a grouchy policeman who doesn't believe in coincidences, and he doesn't trust newcomer Milla Graham. Why is she really here in Raven's Edge? How come she keeps turning up at his crime scenes? There is a murder, and she is connected somehow. Milla returns home to Raven's Edge after 18 years. She is here to figure out who really killed her mother and why. When a body shows up that is eerily similar to her mother's...she knows that her life could be in danger. Can she trust Ben? Can she trust herself? 

It took me a minute to get fully into the story. I didn't like Milla. I didn't trust her. Every other word is a lie. I guess I'm a grumpy man like Ben hahahaha. But once we really got past her web of lies to others and to herself, I grew to like her. I wanted the truth to come out. 

Honestly... my biggest takeaway from this book is that if people told the truth, none of this would have happened! Yes, some lies were meant to protect, but in the end...it made things worse. I wanted to shake everyone. THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREEEEEEE!

I enjoyed the mystery and uncovering it. There were times I was super confused, but then by the end it ALL made sense. The ending made me happy. 

The narrator did an okay job. His voices for characters weren't that different, so you really had to pay attention. 

Overall, I did end up liking this story. The beginning and the one main character were a slow start for me, but it was worth it. Nice mystery and interesting charatcers. I know there was a murder there...but can I move to the town? It sounds like an adorable small town. 

4 stars from me.

And here we go from in-depth analysis of reality TV to my relationship with my family to his amazing artwork. There’s no topic we don’t cover…

Except for who I really am. It’s the only question of his I won’t answer.

As my crush turns into an avalanche of Eliot, I think of him all the time now. But if he knew who I was, the entire house of cards we’ve built this relationship on would come toppling down. I want him to be mine, but we might never be more than just a sweet dream….

Review:

Book 1 was good, and I HAD to listen to book 2 since it was about the brother, Eliot. 

Here we have Eliot and "JD". Eliot voice messaged the wrong person super late at night. Jessie shocks herself by answering back. An accidental voice message goes on to become an instant friendship and then more. They like each other a LOT. The only issue? Jessie can't and won't tell him her real name. He calls her JD, and they just talk. 

This was so stinkin' cute. Even with the serious moments, it was sweet. It felt...real? Is that the word I'm looking for? But it wasn't TOO realistic where it will make you think too much.

The story just felt so cozy, but there are some serious moments and things that could cause them to stop talking to each other. When we find out the real reason why JD keeps her name secret...I totally get it. I didn't know how the truth coming out would work. And you know it does.

I really adored this story, and I adored the narrators. They did such a great job.

Eeeee. I don't want to spoil anything!!!! What else can be said?

Some humor. Some love. Some drama. And lots and lots of talking. It was very sweet.

Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth… when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Cal. He’s surprisingly helpful and really knows his stuff, even if he’s a little awkward…. in an adorable way.

And suddenly I’m flirting with him? And I think he’s flirting back.

And suddenly it’s been hours, and we’re still on the phone talking and ordering each other takeout while he trouble shoots my website.

And suddenly we’re exchanging numbers and sending texts and DMs every day, leaving voice mails (who even does that anymore?!).

And suddenly I’m wondering if it’s possible for two people fall in love at first talk.

Because I’m falling… hard.

Review:

Been meaning to listen to this little guy, but it kept falling to the back burner for some reason. Finally grabbed it and started it

Vera and Cal are meant for each other, but it will take tech issues and hours on hold before they finally talk. The universe has a funny way of putting people in each other's lives. They connect right away, and the sparks fly....on the phone, of course. 

This was a quick listen. Not super long, and I got this done really quick because I couldn't stop listening. I had so much fun.

Loved the conversations and the talking and them getting to know each other. It was all very sweet. This is extremely clean and sweet. I loved being a fly on the wall for their conversations. It was done well. 

My issue is the ending. The solutions were too quick and clean. I also wanted to see them interact in person more. We needed that to solidify their love. Maybe we'll see them around in book 2 since it is about her brother. We shall see....I have book 2 downloaded and ready to go. 

But yes. Cute. Sweet. I wanted more in-person interaction though, to LOVE this. 

I'll give it a 4.

Randomly came across this while digging through some audios on my Libby app. The cover...the title....the summary....come ON! I had to check it out. 

Maude seems like your A-typical old lady, but there is so much more. She has no family or friends. She loves to travel. She also likes a splash of murder. Murder only happens when it needs to....pesky neighbors, foil the engagement of her good-for-nothing ex, and so forth. Will she be able to avoid suspicion, or will the nosy Detective Irene Huss see through her charade?

I had a lot of fun with this. It had humor and murder. What more can a gal ask for?

The narrator was lovely. She did an excellent job with the different ages. She was perfect for the role. 

There is more, and I want to check it out one day! Maude is good at what she does. I'm curious to see who her next victims are and if Huss will be able to uncover her and expose her. Nice little cat-and-mouse coming up, methinks. 

Short, fun, and perfect for a listen. 5 stars.

Review:

I def pre-ordered this little number. I love this world and this series. Adorbs. 

We continue with Perry and her sisters. This time, Perry and James take center stage. Perry has shouldered the responsibility of head of her family and protecting Starfall Island. James is an agent from the Red Jasper Society. He is tasked to watch over and "police" the witches on Starfall Island. Make sure everything is up to code, etc. Things reach a pinnacle with their enemies. It will take everything Perry, James, and their allies have to protect everything they love. And maybe, just maybe, Perry and James will look past their disagreements and see the love they have for each other. 

Awwwwwwwwwwwww this can't be it. There has to be more in this world, and with our witches! This was a spin-off, and I want another spin-off. Maybe another island and/or another coven? The ending sure did give us hope that there will be more. EEEEE!

Loved Perry, and I loved James. They are perfect for each other, even though it takes them FOREVER and a day to figure it out. Everyone could see that for a long time. 

The ending was so good. 

Screw the baddies!!!!! 

The narration was amazing, as per normal with this epic duo. 

Gah! I want more. Should I go back and re-read both this series and the original? Maaaybbbeeeeee.

5 stars from me. I def recommend both series. Read the first one first, though. Lots of details intertwine and impact this one.
