REVIEW:
As you all know I loooove spy stories. I love spies. As a little kid, my secret dream was to be a spy. Such a fragile existence and at any moment you can die, be arrested, get framed, and so forth.

This story follows George Smiley during the Cold War. He is forced into retirement and then forced back in to uncover a mole within the MI6. Everyone is a suspect. This mole has caused a lot of issues and they have to be taken care of.

I wish I could say I loved this, but it was barely decent. The beginning dragged on forever and it was too long. They needed someone to edit this and shave off minimum 30 minutes of the film. Yes, I get there is some backstory needed and some character development. Yes, yes, I get it. However, there were lots of unnecessary scenes. This needed a  good trim. However, I will say that I did get hooked the last 45 minutes or so when everything was coming together. I did not expect who the mole was. I had my guess and I was wrong. Dang. They got me!

The film had an excellent cast on hand for this so it made me excited to give it a watch. I was even shocked to see a personal favorite of mine pop up, Tom Hardy. A nice surprise for me! The acting was wonderful of course. They kept my interest enough that I didn't turn it off. So dull but interesting enough.

The story is interesting enough, but as I mentioned beforehand this needed some trimming up. Too many slow parts and unnecessary scenes that just dragged the story. A good cast and an intriguing story, but too slow and too dull. I had to pause it and come back later to finish it up. I'll give this 2 stars.
