REVIEW:
Eek! I forgot to share this review a while back! Oh my.

I happened to walk in and BF and our friend was watching this. I missed the first 10 minutes, so nothing horribly missed.

There were a lot of actors in this that are big names and that I like so even though I’m not a huge Star Wars fan I imagined I could enjoy this.

This film is a prologue of sorts. As usual, the Rebellion is at risk against the Empire especially after the new weapon called the Death Star. There is a possible weakness and the rebels must try and discover this. With the help of the scientist’s daughter they move to play out their risky plan.

This was a slow moving movie even with all the action and adventure. There was a point I did fall asleep for about 15 minutes. The most exciting part of the film was the last 45 minutes. I was hooked at that point, but the beginning was sloooooooooooower than a frozen pile of water.

The main character, Jyn, was meh. Her character felt so fake and so 2D. I feel she was a last minute add so we had a female presence. She really didn’t add much to the gang and her only talent was the fact she was the daughter of the scientist.

I liked the other members, but they were all very 2D and flat. They were entertaining and had skill sets that would help with the mission, unlike Jyn.

In the end, it was an interesting plot and story that was not really told in the older movies. However, it was just barely okay. The first chunk of the movie was boring. The last 45 minutes were the most exciting parts of the film. This is really a good film for the SW fans, but it was nothing special. I’ll give this 2 stars.

Come to think of it, I really enjoyed it when it first came out. Perhaps due to the Star Wars frenzy. Now, I don't remember much about it so I agree it is a meh movie too.

The ending is memorable but the rest? meh.
