They say a soul is the immaterial essence, the animating principle, the actuating cause of an individual life.

But what if you had to share yours with the one person you hated the most?

The soul mate principle states that for every one soul there is another that will recognize its match, hence creating the perfect union.

But what if you had two soul mates, which would you choose?

What if your choices had eternal ramification?

This was a very complex story even though the summary makes this seem very cut and dry.

The story follows Samantha who was adopted from the local orphanage. Her best friend, Julie, was adopted by a family as well. They are still relatively close in distance and have remained best friends. However, things are not what they seem. Samantha and Julie keep having weird dreams. Especially Samantha. She keeps dreaming of these two guys and the Greek Gods and things she cannot explain. Unbeknownst to her, she is the soul keeper and has the blessing/curse of having two soulmates. When the time comes she will have to choose and whoever she chooses will have unknown consequences to the Gods and to humans. A hefty thing.

I really thought this would be a simple tale of someone having two people who they really love and etc. However, there is an entire fantasy and paranormal aspect I was not really expecting. The decision that must be made will determine the fate of the Gods and humans. What a horrible thing honestly! Poor girl...poor brothers....they should not be having to deal with this. At least the brothers are "gods" and so they have had hundreds of years to deal with this. Samantha is so young and naive. Sure she has had past lives and etc, but she is always mortal.

Yes, this was a complex story for the genre. I honestly did have a hard time following sometimes. I was just as confused as Samantha and I really feel that the reader (at least in this situation) needed more of a leg-up. I had a hard time grasping what is a dream, what is the reality, what is past, and etc. Maybe now that I know what is going on in the next book will be better and I will not be confused for 50% of it.

Even though I was confused and I was meh about Samantha, I continued on. I wanted to understand and see what happened next. The blend of the Greek mythology was nice and made me stay hooked.

Who would I pick? Mmmmmmmmmmmm I do not know yet. I liked Brent...but he is just a human so he does not count. Nick or Marcus??? Mmmmm I do not feel we had enough time with each yet.

In the end, I was surprised by this. I expected a cliche tale of a love triangle, but there is so much more than what meets the eye with this one. There is a lot of stories there. Yes, I do wish the author had made things clearer for us poor readers, but overall, I did enjoy the story. I am curious what is going to happen next. I shall stamp this with.................3 stars.

Wow, yeah, how would anyone be able to make a choice that affected two realms just based on who you want as your soulmate. And yeesh, two soulmates who aren't even human. Talk about complicated. LOL
