REVIEW:
Finally got myself to sit down and watch this. Why do I have such an issue watching movies for the last couple of years?

But yes, Enola Holmes is the teen sister to the famous Sherlock. When their mother goes missing, their oldest brother wants to send her to school to become a lady...Enola has different plans. She plans to find their mother on her own. Along the way maybe she'll find herself and what she wants in life. She will also find herself in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy when she decides to help a mysterious young Lord who is also on the run from his family.

This was a lot of fun. Honestly, I could see this becoming a TV show one day especially if Enola and Sherlock team up. They would make a good team.

The cast was fantastic. So much fun! I never watched the trailer and I didn't check the cast list before starting (minus who played Sherlock and Enola) so it was a fun surprise to see some familiar and beloved faces.

The mysteries were good. I loved the big curveball when it came to the Lord. You think you know the answer, but there was a fantastic twist that I literally was all, "WHAT?!" Nice job there.

My only issue was the awkward stare into the camera and talk. They did this in the new 'Persuasion' movie too. I'm not a fan. I'm all for the main character narrating some bits, especially looking back at the past....or having a monologue to catch the listener up to their internal thoughts.....but having the camera seem to be in the room and be a character? Like she looks at the camera, "Do you have any ideas?" What is this...Dora? Mmmm.

But yeah, minus that annoying thing with talking to the camera...I highly enjoyed this. Fun story. Fun characters. Fun mysteries. I can't wait to check out movie 2. There are still a lot of stories to tell and a lot of mysteries to unfold. 4 stars...more like 3.5, but I rounded because I am biased and adore Henry Cavill ;)

I kind of liked breaking the 4th wall

"What is this...Dora?" OMG Carole... I almost spit out my tea! Breaking the 4th wall (that's what it's called when the main character talks to the audience through the camera) seems to be popular in the past several years. I don't mind it if it goes with the story. It works in shows like She-Hulk which has a lot of humor. It didn't bother me in the EH movie, but I can understand why it might. I hope you watch the second movie soon. I liked it more than the first!

B, I do too but it has to be done right.

Jen, hehehe I'm glad I could make you laugh. I don't mind it but I am picky....it has to be done right.
