Review:

Picked this up for book club. Decided to do the audio version. The narrator's name sounded familiar so why not, eh?

We follow Annie Beyers who seems to have it all. A beautiful home, a loving hubby, and a daughter. It seems like a normal day while she is taking Hannah to the pediatrician until she gets in a car accident. She wakes up hours later and asks about her daughter. This confuses the doctors who tell Annie that Hannah doesn't exist. She steps into a weird life where nothing is right. There is no daughter, she and her husband are getting divorced, their deceased dog is still alive, and they sold their country home and live in the city. Annie is haunted by visions of the other life. The search for answers leads Annie down an illuminating path far from home. 

I quite literally had no idea what was going on. I had no idea what was going to happen. One moment I was convinced she was just losing it. But then something would happen or she would dig in her memories...and I would side with her that there was SOMETHING going on. I didn't want to stop. I had to get answers.

There were some twists when we start learning more about Annie's mom. I'm not going to give away spoilers, but yea. It just added a whole crazy amount of layers to this story. 

Gah. I felt SO bad for everyone involved. For Annie who knows what she knows and is stuck. For her friends and family who feel helpless thinking Annie is literally losing her marbles. Not easy for anyone. 

I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I read a few reviews that people didn't like it. For me? It was fitting. I liked it. There was a lesson there and it closed many loops, but still left room for the imagination. Again...trying not to spoil anything. The ending actually gave me some happy and sad tears. Such a good way to end it in my opinion. 

The narrator was fantastic!! Every character had a unique voice that fit well. Even with some of the rambly parts and the "repeats" we see, it all felt different and I enjoyed it. Great job!

In the end, I adored this book. I had zero idea what was going to happen and I couldn't stop the audio. It also really makes you think and feel. That ending....loved it. I'll give this 5 stars.
