TMST: Good Series for Younger Readers

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.

What are some good series for younger/ MG readers?

I’m not the most up-to-date with young people series, so my opinion is limited. However, from my youth I would say the best book series are the best and I would encourage kids to read them:

Dear America
The best part about this series is that you don’t have to read them in order. They are all separate stories about girls in America during all different times in history. Not only do young readers get a glimpse into history, but they get a good story about someone in their age bracket.

Those four on the right are my favorites. I could not possibly pick just two ;)

The Royal Diaries
Much the same as the other one. However, these kids are royal. It gives a different view of history from some pretty famous people, but it also shows how much in common we (kids) have in common no matter what station in life.

So many good ones, but these two really stuck with me. Obviously. ;)

My Name is America

This is pretty much the same as the other two, but this resolves around the young boys in our history. Even as a little girl I liked reading these.

I didn't read a crazy amount of these since I was a girl and all. These two were amazing.

I'd never heard of Dear America. But definitely sounds like they'd be good for a younger reader :)

It is good! I honestly want to reread them all for my own curiosity!
