DISCUSSION:

***SPOILER WARNINGS (we tried to be good ;) ) ***

Season 2 yayy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I confess not rushing out to see, I only watched cos I got sick. But I am glad I did! I liked it SO much more than s1

Awww I am glad you are feeling better, but I’m also glad you watched this. I loved S1, but I really LOVED S2 the most. I could be biased but Anthony is of my faves.

S1 took me 1,5 months. S2 took me 2 days ;) I just felt s1 had no romance to speak of. They had sex sure, but that is not romance. Can’t say I liked Daphne either. But here, yes maybe I just like haters to lovers. But all those looks and almost touches. This had all the feels.

Really??? Wow. That is a long time. I loved Kate and Anthony and their hate to love situation! Yes, they changed the timeline and added some extra stuff from what happened in the book. However…I liked the change. It made it seem more impossible for them to finally get their HEA. And honestly…I thought about it and the changes made sense. Anthony’s and Daphne’s story was pretty similar in some ways in the books. So the changes made their stories different.

Still they  did Edwina dirty. Stringing her along, making her think she was in love and then have all that swept away. I would be PISSED too if I was her. Forgiveness would be hard.

Yesss they did string Edwina along wayyyyy more than the book. Poor thing. She is adorable and deserves loveeee. The little exchange between her and the Queen had me hopeful for S3. Maybe she’ll get the last laugh and get great love and an even richer dude. ;) One can hope.

Hopefully, cos yes not cool! But then Kate should have said something ages ago. I get Anthony, he had his share of issues so he just wanted a loveless marriage. Still, you should have seen it Anthony and said you want Kate. Stupid man

I get why Anthony didn’t say anything because he didn’t want love. He liked Edwina enough and was fine with having no love in his life. I agree. Kate should’ve told her sooner, but she didn’t want love either. She really thought she could get Edwina married and then run away to India and live her best Spinster life. Honestly…Daphne should’ve done more. She knew what she knew but she stayed mum too. COMMUNICATION PEEPS!!!

But it did bring the drama ;) And they both needed that kick in the butt to show how they feel. So many sidestories too. What about Eloise this season?

Eloise is endearing. I loved how she stood up to that one asshat. But I wasn’t really a fan of her crush of Theo. I feel like she was using him in a way. IDK. I did love the drama at the end with Eloise and Pen. I know a lot of people are mad, but I honestly really loved it. I’m sure things will get fixed pretty quick in S3, but I liked the drama and I think they needed to yell at each other.

I was not sure about her and Theo either. I felt she could escape from the house too easily and no one ever said anything. Like hello?! But she did seem to like him, but at the same time I just want her to end up with her right person. And I hope she stays angry a long time.

To be honest…I think everyone was SO distracted by Anthony and his drama. And Anthony himself could not pay attention to Eloise running amok. I can see how she was able to sneak off. I agree, but I get why Pen said and did what she did, but I get why each is mad at the other.

I am harder on Pen, there was another way, but she wanted what she wanted too much. But if s3 is Benedict's book? Will they all be angry at Pen for an entire season then?

I think Eloise will not tell the others the real reason WHY she is mad at Pen and what Pen did. I think she is too loyal, but she is super hurt. I’m sure Eloise and Pen will be mad at each other for the majority of the season and then Eloise will offer her services in some way shape or form.

And then the rest finds out at the end or something. I think it is good, they both need to speak to other people. Too much in their own bubble. Ok who is next?

In the book everyone finds out in Collin and Pen’s book. So if the writers are going to follow-ish the books we won’t find out until the end of s4 or mid s4. We shall see. Oooo what did you think of the Featherington drama? Mama F surprised me in the end! I actually respected her a bit more there!

Ugh those people! Ok one daughter away, phew, another one to go. Pen will have her time. Mama is very busy and likes shortcuts. Cruel, but yes in the end, she could have had more. I was all for that. But at the same time, right decision. She is a good mother.

I think she was all on board with what’s his face until he pretty suggested just leaving the girls behind….you could see her going from her normal selfish self to Mama Bear. She literally tossed him to wolves. She made the right decision for sure. I was bummed he was crappy. I was hoping they would have a nice guy actually care about them and want to help them out.

Do not poke Mama Bear! Good for her, and she has some money now, she will be fine.Right, do you have anything to say about Benedict?

Yess so I think S3 will be kind-ish to them…I hope. We need to get the other girl married off. I like Benedict but I am worried about his season. Remember the book? They kinda made him a jerk for the first half of it. Sure he redeems himself….but he was an asshat to Sophie. We shall see. Maybe they will soften him a bit.

He was such an asshole. I did not like him one but, pleeeease tone it down in the series. I sure hope so.

For real. He is just so sweet right now. It will break my heart if they make him a super jerk. A little jerky-ness is okay because drama of course….but I hope they tone it down and he doesn’t pretty much blackmail Sophie at one point. I’m nervous for s3 but I am always soooo excited. I literally can’t wait a year! SOBS.

Sad. I hope it is good, and I hope they show us some casting soon!

Yesss they need to at least give us that. Kate and Anthony will be there but that makes sense because Anthony IS the head of the household and Kate is pretty much Mama #2. I can’t wait to see more interaction and convos between the three…Mama Bridgerton, Kate, and Anthony. They have a handful of drama and marriages to deal with. LOL.

Fun times! I am glad I got it done quickly :) Even if it is ages until more now. Until next time!

I feel ya. It was fun times and I couldn’t stop watching…but now we wait. Eeeee!

The end?

The end!!

The Orville Poster

I've never really been one about space stuff. I'll watch it...but I'm not crazy about this genre. However, I was convinced to watch this. I do adore Seth Seth MacFarlane so it didn't take too much convincing to give the show a try.

The show takes place 400 years in the future. Captain Mercer and his crew travel the galaxy to explore and help where they are needed.

What I love about this show is that it is not a complete spoof. Sure they poke fun and make a few jokes, but this is a serious show. Serious topics and serious character development. It was the perfect blend of seriousness and comedy. Some jokes fall a little flat and can be dry. BUT I do love dry humor so I enjoy it and the awkward flat jokes make me laugh even harder.

Honestly, the first couple of episodes are just okay. However, every week the show gets better and better and better. I can't wait for season 3.

Where is everything going to lead? I am worried Ed and Kelly will get back together. I love both characters BUT not together. You got a divorce for a million reasons (the cheating number 1), and it just won't work. I just want them to be friends, but I do see some hints they will end up getting back together. SIGHS. We shall see.

In the end, this a really good show. I can't wait for season 3. I shall stamp this with 4 stars.

Time for TV Tuesday: The Bold Type (Season 1-3)

The Bold Type Poster

On the recommendation (and persistence) of a couple of my gal pals, I watched this show. I rarely watch chick flick TV shows. Not because I don’t like them, but because they normally bore me. Thus, is why I rarely read chick lit unless I really can’t resist.

The show follows three friends in New York. They met at this famous woman’s magazine in all different departments. They became best friends. We have Kat, Jane, and Sutton.
Sooo I started this journey not sure. I had really low expectations and I was expecting to be bored by episode 2. However,…I was pleasantly surprised by this show.

There are three seasons and I finished ALL pretty quickly. Season 1 took me a little longer, but I still went through it in about 2 or 3 days. Season 3 I got done in a single day. Yep. I couldn’t stop. I totally binged that last season and I am SOOOOOOOOOO mad. I want season 4 NOW! I NEED TO KNOW! HOW CAN THEY LEAVE ME THUS! MONSTERS! Ugh…yes….it was a huge cliffie at the end there and I am SO mad. It was a good cliffie. But ugh.

Let’s talk about the characters.

We have Kat. I like her but she is too rash and immature in some of her decisions. Drives me nuts. But I love how she is really opening up and being honest with herself. She is easy to tell it how it is for everyone else, but she is becoming so well-rounded as a character. But she still makes DUMB decisions. I guess you can’t control who you love.
We have Sutton. I simply adore her. She is SO funny and SO fun. I really relate to her in so many ways. She is so brave and confident. Sometimes she needs a good kick in the romp, but I adore her. There was a part in season 3 I was annoyed with her. C’mon lady…get your head out of your ass, but I get WHY she was the way she was about certain things…but still…don’t be dumb.

Speaking of growing on me….there is Jane. I hated her season 1 and season 2. Okay hated is a strong word, but I really wanted to kick her. She is so self-centered and so dramatic about EVERYTHING. Like take a chill pill lady. Jacqueline was right and she really needed to grow up. It took nearly a full 2 seasons for me to like Jane. Near the end of season 2 I found myself actually liking her. She really developed during a certain phase of time. She needed it for sure.

I did not care for Richard at first, but he grew on me. LOOOOVVEEEE HIMMMM the most. Pinstrip is okay…but….there is something that bugs me about him; I can’t pinpoint it (ha). I like Alex too. Dr. Ben was fun. Honestly? I woulda picked him. He was sweet and smart and funny and that accent. EEEE Adena…no. I loath her so much. I liked the other girl WAY better. Booo. Gods, I hate Adena. She doesn’t really care about Kat. Not at all. She is SO selfish and SO rude. Ugh. SUPER UGH! I do not even have the words to express my dislike of this character. Kat deserves the sun darnit!

I wish I had a boss like Jacqueline. *green with jealousy*

Oooo what to say without spoilers?

This show is SO funny and SO heart-warming. It is also a show that tackles real, modern day issues like sexism, racism, bodyisms (not a word, but they go over all aspects of self-love), love, friendship, technology, politics, fashion, and becoming the best version of you. Such a good show. I highly recommend it if you like people stories. I’ll give this 5 stars.

DISCUSSION:

Mmm, your text was hidden from me just now. Sigh. Not my day! Let us start

Very weird! But yesssss. I am so glad we watched this. I’ve had this on my list for a while. So long that season 2 already came out. LOL I am so bad.

Same! I am glad I finally watched it, all thanks to the book Marilla of Green Gables. Which also made me realise many have not read or watched the previous series. OMG I loved that series as a kid. Canadian tv rocks! It was so sweet.

I never watched it as a kid! D: I heard of it and I wasn’t really interested. Not sure what was wrong with my kid mind.

Well to be honest, there wasn’t much on when I was younger. Things I remember was Anne of Green Gables, Flying Doctors (best show ever), MacGyver and Little house on the Prairie. So those were always on re-runs ;)

I remember Little House on the Prairie. That was fun. I was a Full House and Prince of Bel-Air kid. I also liked the anime shows (nerrrddddddd kid). So yes. This was a first for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect. LOL. Anne is a handful D: IDK if I could handle her as my kid.

Lol. I like to think that I have a good imagination, but Anne’s head is always in the clouds. And at that time when chores had to be done and houses not burned down ;) Well, I can imagine her being quite the handful.

I feel like I would have a hard time being her friend at first. Not that she is a bad person, but she is clueless and embarrassing. She is also pretty darn selfish. Bless Diana’s heart. Took her in right away even though all the others were like “ew red-headed orphan!” Which. I like red-heads...I am jealous I don’t have red hair. >_>

Yes, why the hate on red-heads?  Always wanted red hair! And why the hate on her being an orphan?! Privileged two parents assholes!
But yes Anne is, more fun to read or watch then to have as an actual friend. I guess you grow used to her and then I imagine she is quite wonderful. Always thinking of new games. But she is also THE BIGGEST DRAMA QUEEN ever.

Yesss that town needed to have a reality check. HOW MANY TIMES DOES ANNE HAVE TO SAVE THE DAY FOR YOU PEOPLE TO AT LEAST TOLERATE HER!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I wanted to scream. Like….c’mon she is learning the proper ways to act in society. She was a damn orphan. Give the girl a break. That one boy (can’t remember his name) was such an asshat. I wanted someone to beat him. Terrible kid. No reason for it. He has a good home and friends. UGH
And yessss she was a huge drama queen. She really needs to see a therapist. Things got overly dramatic at the end of season 2. I was a little meh about it. Like….I don’t know what to say without spoiling. But c’mon. Everyone chill.

I liked season 1, it was nice. But in season 2 I felt they took on too much too fast. Race, social differences, gender, women’s role, sexuality in different forms, bullying. Every issue there is they wanted to bring forth. Too much at once.

Yes, they did take on too much in the last season. I get all those are important things especially back then. But focus on a couple of things. Save some plot line for the next season.

I guess that if they did not know they would get a 3rd then they wanted to discuss everything! But it was all too fast. Spread it out! Like now I felt the whole Dash thing so weird. What kind of grown man follows a 14 year old boy home and lives with him? And then his romance, also too fast!

I feel like they went around the whole thing wrong. Maybe Dash comes to town with him and then gets a house in the town. Meets his girlfriend. The boy is lonely and asks Dash and the wife to move in. I think I would’ve felt better that way. It just felt awkward. Don’t get me wrong. I adored the Dash character, but like you said...it felt rushed and awkward. Season 1 was soooo good and Season 2 felt so rushed and jam-packed with all these social issues.

Dash was wonderful, but yes his story should have been spread out over more and now just have them move in and..weird! And then they had those other things too. Like I would have liked the Miss Stacy thing to have its on time too. She was interesting. A woman in pants. Shocking! But like all other things it was thrown in there. S1 was much better. Sad but true.

They were prolly worried that was the last season. Not sure if they even announced another season or not. But I wished they did spread things out. I was happy to learn more about Anne’s adopted parents. Poor things. Gave up so much. I am so glad that Matthew got to have his moment of anger. He really held it all in with his silent ways. He was so resentful and I don’t blame him! I would’ve been too. He lost his brother too!

It does make me wonder, how did the brother died? Did I miss it?

They only allude to it. I don’t think they actually say HOW he died. How they talk about it was that it was just an accident of some sort.

At least they did not throw that in also, maybe it can be said in s3. Which I hope is more calmed down.

Have they announced s3 yet? I want to watch it! Even though S2 was rushed, I still enjoyed it overall. LOL. I want to see what happens next to these characters. *does research* Yesss looks like S3 is confirmed. Cool.

I meant to have so many things to say and now...siiiiiilence. Ok, so yes it is a fun series. I always like historical and it is fun to watch. Even when rushed.

There are a lot of topics they bring up but I feel like some of them will spoil the storyline. And again I apologize for the small spoiler I gave you a while back ;). It is a good show to watch and discuss. This town sucked at first but they are better now.

Well, that town is meant to suck, hehe. And they will grow and accept more things…*coughs* ANd there will always be asshats!

UGH the queen of having a closed mind is Marilla’s friend. I wanted to smack her! But then there were times she was awesome and then she would suck again. Ugh!!!! Maybe she won’t suck in season 3.

All people have ups and downs I guess. But she was being a b*tch at times

She was the worst. She was just as dramatic as Anne. LOL

Oh no, she is Marilla’s Anne! Like DIana to ANne

Oh dear god. Does that mean Diana is going to end up a spinster??????!!!! LOL

Do you want me to spoil it?

Nooooo. LOL I’ll have to wait like a good girl. But I doubt Diana would be a spinster.

Oh now I remember. The teacher romance..that was weird too. I felt like they started it like one thing and then made it another thing.

Ewwww that whole thing was gross. Maybe if the teacher was actually good looking it wouldn’t have been gross? IDK but he looked like a child molestor (which in fact he was). He was a mean werido.

But at that time no one thought it would be weird if that girl married him. I guess she was like 17? Totally ok if he had a future. But it was so strangely done. Like with the whole season

True. It wouldn’t have been super weird...but HE made it gross. He looked gross, sounded gross, just ew. If he had been even remotely pleasing to the eye I think I wouldn’t be so grossed out. I’m glad it ended the way it did. He was an ass.

He was the worst kind of bully. I wanted to kick his arse.

Me too! Me too!

So, do we have more to add?

Without spoiling anything major??? Mmmm. Nothing but...Watch this show. It is good. At least watch s1.

Too bad s1 ends with a spoiler so you have to watch more!

LOL yesss it was a good way to end it. I couldn’t help but start s2 in a rush. OH THOSE GUYS! *shakes fist*

So long Avonlea then!

Can’t wait for s3!!!!!!!

Time for TV: Victoria (Season 2)

Recently Finished:

It took FOREVER for Amazon to have season 2 for free on Prime. I nearly caved and bought it, but I waited and I was given this! Yayy!

We get to see more of Young Vicky in the early stages of her marriage. I think we are about 6 years in now or so? It’s hard to really tell at some points because time seems to slide by and next thing you know the baby is now 5 or 6 and Vicky is preggo again.

The beginning of the show really does focus on her recovery from her first childbirth. Poor Vicky. She still has to prove herself to these men. GRRR men! She is the damn queen not a normal woman. I’m glad the PM and her hubbie realize this and just let her be her and do what she needs to do.

I like the Vicky they have. It still weirds me out about her colored contacts. Sometimes it looks real…sometimes…not so much. Just have her have her natural eyes or cast a blue-eyed woman. Giving someone a wig is way easier. But the actress has done well and I am surprised. I was a little uneasy with her, but she has slid into the Vicky shoes and has done well. I like Albert. He fits well. I LOVE Ernest, but I am biased because I adore the actor. He can do no wrong ;) Except I am a little mad with Ernest. FOOL! Damned fool. SMH. Did you not learn?

The rest of the cast is good. I also love how they tie in the servants and their stories. Everything fits nicely. Yes, the show is about good ol’ Vickey, but I feel they keep it more interesting showing everyone else. The servants get a story. The hubbie and his brother get a story. It is all nice and it flows perfectly.

My only real issue is the time passages. It can be a little jolting when they skip a couple of years and you are unaware until you see the kids all older or etc. Lots of material to covers, but I would like some sort of notification when there is going to be more than a few months’ time jumping.

Overall, I love, love LOVE this show. I want to start with season 1 again and re-watch the whole show. SOOOO when is season 3 coming out? This left me with tears and I must know more! The time jumps and the eye contacts bug me a touch, but overall this is a really good show. I’ll stamp this season with 4 stars.

Frontier (Season 2)

Oh my goodness…I need to write my reviews sooner. It has been a hot minute since I finished this season….let me think…

Okay – so I have been dying for the new season. The last one ended so OMG. The first episode starts right where we left off. It was a slow building up the story again. So much happened and the climax was cra-cra. So I get it why it took a while to position everyone where they needed them. Some character building especially with a couple of characters.

Once the stage was set…things exploded again. OH. MY.GOD. Another season finale that has me needing the next season. I cannot believe it. I mean…I can…I so called something bad happening, but I didn’t know what. A certain character WILL NOT STAY AWAY. Like dude…go away. Ugh. He is a plague. Fans of the show will know who I am talking about.
Also…I AM MAD. SO MAD. I actually grew to like a character and THEY KILLED THAT CHARACTER IN A HORRIBLE WAY! NOOOO! *shakes fist* I had to walk away and finish the last episodes later. I was not a happy camper. The scene, don’t get me wrong, was done well and it all makes sense. But I am po’ed! Ugh. Poor character. Did not deserve that AT all.

Lots of character building at the beginning. It took a while to really ignite but when it did? So good. I am dying to see what happens next. Worth the watch. You have to watch the season before this though to fully get the story and characters.

Very good, but not AS good as the last season. I want blood to be shed!!!! JUSTICE!!!!!
I’ll stamp this with 3 stars.

Time for TV Tuesday: Versailles (season 2)

Versailles (Season 2)

First off…I have to say I am in love with Fabien. He is utterly the best!!! So hot and so tough and so awesome. It broke my little heart what happened. Poor guy! WAH!

Okay…let us backtrack.

This is Season 2. Season 1 was reaaaaaaaaaaally good and left with a huge cliffhanger. Season 2 jumped right in and was off. I would highly suggest not skipping the first season. There is a lot of ties that are going to be tied or extended in this season. Louis is struggling to keep his country, his family, and himself together. I just don’t get why everyone is freaking out…so what if the KING wants to relocate court to a new capital? Get over it. I guess people get stuck in their ways and don’t like change. Psha on them.

I hate the King’s mistress and this season really showed me my hatred was not misplaced.
I like the King’s brother and his lover. I didn’t like Chevalier at first…he seemed 2D but he had some character development in this season that made me actually warm-up to him. I have to thank Phillip’s new bride. She was a hoot and she was just so warm and loving. I hope to see more of her in the future. Same with Sophie!

There is a lot of drama, murder, and intrigue afoot with these bored nobles. They seriously need hobbies. I was hooked on each episode and I finished the season within three days (dang work getting in the way). So good.

I honestly felt this was a LOT better than the last season. The characters were more developed and there was more intrigue afoot.

I also was happy that this didn’t end on a serious cliff-hanger. It ended well and surprising. I want more! Where is season 3??? LOL!

Yes, I obviously recommend this series to history buffs and even for people who like a good people story. Watch season 1 first though. Lots of backstories you need to enjoy this season. I’ll stamp this with 5. No complaints.

Time for TV Tuesday: The Crown (Season 2)

The Crown (Season 2)

Season 1 was pretty good. I enjoyed it and I was dying to get my hands on Season 2. I KNOW what happens next, but I couldn’t wait to watch this interpretation of what happens next. It is always SO fun to compare reality with Hollywood reality. I feel this show has done well so far with the balance of fact and entertainment fact.

I do love the cast. They do well. I hear rumor they will be replacing everyone with older actors. I will be so sad! They have been a treat. I’ve especially loved the lady who plays the queen herself. Wonderful actress and I hope she does more in the future!

Phillip is a total asshate and the actor is doing a good job making me be annoyed with him. Phillip gets better for a little while but then when he gets back he becomes an immature brat. Luckily, as we all know, he does become the hubbie the queen needs and deserves. It has taken years, but one scene made me happy. I am still not happy with his treatment to Charles. Poor kid. That episode broke my little heart. He was so bullied and so not happy at that school. I wanted to kick Phillip. The damn security detail was more fatherly to the poor kid. I can see why Charles became what he became…

But anyways, this made me feel more. I felt there was more action and drama then the last one. I really feared for the queen divorcing her hubbie even though I KNOW they don’t. But I was scared. A normal marriage would’ve fallen apart years ago. I’m glad they made it.
The ending ended well and I would be fine if they did not do another season. Sure, I want to see more, but I felt it ended on a good note. There is more drama ahead but I worry that if they change up the cast to make them older I will not be happy. We shall see….but I am worried. This cast excellent. All of them. No complaints from me.

OMG! The poor prime ministers. Ugh. I just remembered…they were both so humiliated. Fools though and they should’ve realized they would’ve been tossed under the bus, but you can’t help but feel for them. I especially feel for the one who went to the parody show about him and the other politicians. Yes, it started funny, but then it just got cruel.  Poor guy…between his wife and that….I can see why he seems like a loser and quitter. I would be too.

What else to say?

I think my only complaint is the huge time jumps and gaps. I always have to think or look up how long it has been. I wish they would do little “7 months later” or something to indicate how long it has been. The viewer, if not sure of the real history, would be a little confused on why their kids are older now. When the queen and Phillip had a convo about their anniversary I was a little shocked that it has been 10 years!! Umm…mmm. So yes, a little head’s up once in a while would be lovely.

A fun watch. This season was better than the first one I feel. There was a lot of drama within the family and outside of the family. It worked well and made me feel. If they do shake up the cast with older people, I will be worried since I loved this cast so much. I’ll give this season 4 stars.

What the hell did I just watch???????????????????????? WHAT???! HOW...WHY??? HUH?

0_0

Okay..let's backtrack.

Season 1 was really good, so I couldn't wait to watch season 2 and season 3.

Season 2 was okay. It took me a while to get through it. I enjoyed it, but it was just okay. It wasn't as good as the first season. I did enjoy the new characters especially Lucy Lawless's character. Such a good addition. However, I feel that season 2 was a bridge season for the next season. It was also a gateway to add some extra complexity to the characters and story.

Now...season 3 was really, really good!! It was also really, really dark. I had no idea what was going to happen next especially with our main character Mary. Poor girl. She got what she wanted...but it was not what she thought it was going to be. I liked the plot twists but I find the whole son/devil thing really odd...but the devil is what the devil is....so it would be his twisted humor do what he did.

HOLY ending......I.....have no words. Poor everyone. It was a HUGE twist. I liked the ending, but there were pieces of the ending I didn't liked AT all. Can't say what because of spoilers. Let's just say a couple of characters and their fates made me cry and throw a fit. WAH!

Overall, this was a really good show. Season 1 and Season 3 were the best. Season 2 was just okay. It was for sure a bridge season. This was for sure worth the watch even though I had a love-hate relationship with the ending. I hope they leave show as is. I do want someone to save a certain character from a horrible, terrible fate. However, I hope they leave the show as is...I don't think it needs another season.  There really is nowhere to go from here.

Here are my ratings for each season:

Season 1 - 5 stars
Season 2 - 3 stars
Season 3 - 4 stars
