Summary:

Jordan Amador. 21. New Yorker. Waitress. Mild alcoholic. Murderer.

Two years ago, Jordan accidentally shot and killed a Seer: a person who can see, hear, and talk to ghosts with unfinished business. Her crime came with a hefty price, too. She has two years to help a hundred souls cross over to the afterlife or her soul is bound for hell. Tough break.

As if that weren’t bad enough, two days before her deadline a handsome pain-in-the-ass poltergeist named Michael strolls into her life. His soul is the key to her salvation, but the cost just might be more than she can handle. Solving his death puts her right in the crosshairs of Belial: a vain, bloodthirsty archdemon who won’t rest until she’s his slave. Can she rescue Michael and save her own soul, or will they both be dragged down into the clutches of the eternal black parade?

Review:

This cover is so badass. I love it!!!!! Plus what a fun concept, so I couldn't resist this one.

The story follows Jordan Amador who accidentally killed a Seer. In order to atone for that, she must that his place to help 100 ghosts cross over to the afterlife or she will go to Hell. It is now 2 days before her deadline and she comes across a poltergeist named Michael who strolls in her life and demands her help. Trying to solve this mystery, they come face-to-face with a bloodthirsty archdemon who won't rest until she is his slave. Can she rescue Michael and herself before the 2 days?

I liked Jordan a lot. She is a hot mess, but can you blame her? I would drink even more than she does. What terrible luck! And especially when we learn more about her past and her mom. All so sad. Michael was sweet too. I liked Gabe more tho ;)

The romance wasn't at all the main focus and that made me happy. We really didn't see any sort of feelings formulate until near the end. It worked well. There is a lot going on that they need to focus on. I'm sure book 2 we will see the romance elements more.

There were so many secrets and reveals in this one! Every time we turned around we were getting surprises especially about Michael! Poor Jordan LOLL.

Now...I think my only issue is that I kept thinking the book was ending and then....it kept going. We had a couple big battles and epic moments and then it seemed like all was ending and then nope! Onto the next adventure. I feel like this could've been broken up into other books possibly?

I did love the final ending. It isn't a cliff, but it does make you curious to see what is next for Jordan and Michael. It does make me curious...so maybe one day.

Overall, this a fun story. It was unique with an interesting character. I liked Jordan a lot and I curious to see what is next for her. I had no real BIG issues except for the multiple endings. Can I just say again...that cover is badass! I'll stamp this with 3 stars.

LOL, I've had a few where it could of ended about 75% in and just kept going so I had no idea. It does sound a bit different and exciting.

I could see how multiple endings could be frustrating. Interesting premise though.
