Heath left Brooke years ago, severing their teenage romance without a backward glance.

Now he's back for the holidays and thinks he can pick up where they left off.

Not if she can help it.

He broke her heart once. She can't let his cocky smirk weaken her defenses again.

That is, until he tempts her with a Christmas gift she has no ability to deny.

A freebie and set during xmas. So why not?

The story follows Brooke and Heath. Heath had left Brooke years ago and now he is back for the holidays and he wants to pick up where they left off. Brooke, of course, is resistant even though Heath is very tempting.

Gah. Screw Heath. He made me mad! His reasoning for leaving her in the dust and reasoning for now saying he is ready to move forward angered me. The "twist" also made me mad. I wanna shake her brothers. Won't say, but gah!

Luckily this was short because I was ready to be done. I wanted Brooke to stand her ground but love is love. I'm glad she didn't make it easy for him though.

Yes, yes, don't get me wrong...I love second chances stories and all, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I am curious about some of the other stuff by this author, but this one? But gah. Heath made it hard for me to really like it fully. BROOKE YOU NEED SOMEONE BETTER. 1 star.

Oh man, that stinks that the hero seemed more a jerk than anything. Hopefully, next one is better.

Yes! He was a super jerk. Sighs can't win them all.
