Mace Llewellyn. Brendon Shaw. Two tall, gorgeous, sexy alpha heroes who are 100% male―with a little something extra. Lion-shifters, to be exact, who can unleash every woman's animal side and still look good―make that spectacular―in a suit... and even better out of it...

NYPD cop Desiree "Dez" MacDermot knows she's changed a lot since she palled around with her childhood buddy, Mace. But it's fair to say that Mace has changed even more. It isn't just those too-sexy gold eyes, or the six-four, built-like-a-Navy Seal body. It's something in the way he sniffs her neck and purrs, making her entire body tingle...

Meanwhile, for Tennessean Ronnie Lee Reed, New York City is the place where any girl―even one who runs with a Pack―can redefine herself. First order of business: find a mate, settle down, and stop using men for sex. Even big, gorgeous, lion shifter men like Brendon Shaw. But she needn't worry, because now that Brendon's set his sights on her, the predator in him is ready to pounce and never let go...

This was an interesting format. Two couples. One book. Why not?

First we get Mace and Dez. They had been childhood friends and they come across each other years and years later. Dez is a cop. Mace is a rich boy who is just coming back from the Navy. The two meet and sparks fly. Next, we have Ronnie and Brendon. Ronnie is a flighty Southern gal and Brendon is newly rich and looking for his brother.

I did like how the two stories are intertwined. It was like a two-in-one. Right after Mace and Dez get their HEA we start right up with Ronnie and Brendon. I didn't think I'd like it, but it worked.

I will say I liked Ronnie and Brendon better. D and M were okay...but they were annoying at points. R and B were cuter and funnier. Plus I got a kick out of two opposite shifters coming together. One is wolf and one is Lion. Loved all the jokes.

The biggest issue I had though was the copy and pasting especially in the first story. Ugh. WE GET IT. We promise. I got so annoyed with all the repeating. The second story had SOME but not as bad as the first one. Ugh.

Other than that I had no real issues.

I adored the narrator. She made this fun and funny. I think I would've been annoyed if I had to read this, especially with the copy-paste bits. The narrator was awesome. I want to listen to more by her.

Overall, I did like this story. The repeating elements got old and M and D annoyed me at some points. However, the narrator really pulled everything together for me. And I did really like R and B It was enjoyable. I'll give this 4 stars.

I listened to one in the spin off series and found it so-so. Little aggravations- nothing big. I did love the funny antics and the opposite shifters. Narrator was fab, too. I do plan on coming back for this series at some point.

Sophia, nothing horribly horrible. Just a lot of little things for sure. I do want to read more.
