REVIEW:
As I was having a snack of sweets (eating more than I care to admit) I was scrolling through Netflix looking for a mindless movie to toss on. I stumbled upon this. Perfect! Sweet, Xmas, Romance, and cheesy.
The story follows Stacy who is invited to go on a baking show in some random little country. While there she bumps into a duchess who was pretty much arranged to marry the prince. The duchess wants to be free for a couple of days and so they switch places.
My tooth-ached by the end of this. Was it from the sugar I ate or from this? Maybe both. This was certainly a very light and sugary story. It was sweet indeed.
I liked Stacy and I liked the duchess. I actually liked both of the males. Of course, they fall for the wrong one. Stacy the Baker for the Prince and then the duchess for the lowly Baker who is a single father. Naturally! I personally like the Prince better ;) But maybe that is because I am from the lowly side of things. SIGHS.
The xmas theme was perfect and it made me miss Xmas just a smidge. Ooo happiness. Oooo the cheesy-ness.
I was fine with everything until the ending and the reveal occurred. Please...this is not a spoiler since we KNOW it is bound to happen. I didn't mind HOW it happened, but I did not like the "repercussions". It annoyed me. I cannot say, but it was annoying.
ALSO I hated that they had posh English accents. The duchess seems to be from a Spain/Italian like country while the Prince is from "Belgravia" does that not sound German-y? I shouldn't be surprised. All movies set around fake or even real royalty tend to use the posh English accent. It is easy and people sit a little straighter when hearing the posh-ness. But gah!!! I wish it was more creative!!!!!
Overall, sweet and fun. The ending was something. It wasn't BAD, but I was hoping for something a smidge different. Also, the accent thing was annoying. If you are looking for a sweet, fun time with Xmas feels. I root for this one. 3 stars.

I wonder about the reprecessions....I want to see it ;)
hehehe yes you must watch it
It does sound cute and easy to relax with. I'll have to keep it in mind. I don't blame you for a little extra swoon over a prince.
Not for me. Nope. Not even with champagne.
Sophia, swoon!
Ana, hehehe
