Where I Got It: My shelf (Amazon)

Watch the young legendary hero Ralic embark on a quest to learn the truth about his childhood, and the childhoods of everyone he's ever met ever.

Another Amazon freebie. I was drawn in by the cover and the title. Both are so simple...but intriguing.

The story follows Ralic and his early journey. We get to learn about where this hero comes from and a lot about him. This felt like a prequel/prologue in a way.

Ralic is interesting indeed. I like him. The world seems interesting, but it confused me. I need to learn more about it. There wasn't much here. This seemed to focus on the people more so. This needed a couple of extra pages I feel. Too prologue-y for my liking.

Honestly? I was surprised to see this was a fantasy. Did not expect it. But I was pleased. Took me for a loop.

I did pick up the next step of the story. It's longer, but still a short story. I am curious to learn more about Ralic and this world. We shall see.

A random, odd find, but it wasn't bad. It did its job...it made me curious to learn more in the next book. I'll give this a 3.

I could see how it would drive you nuts not to get enough of a feel for the world and it being like a blank wall behind the characters. Hopefully, things will unfold better in book two.
