Some people have everything figured out—Andrea Nash is not one of those people.

After being kicked out of the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea’s whole existence is in shambles. All she can do is to try to put herself back together, something made easier by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend Kate Daniels.

When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano—the male alpha of the Clan Bouda and Andrea’s former lover—die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate…and must work with Raphael. As Andrea’s search for the killer leads her into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta, she knows that dealing with her feelings for Raphael might have to take a back seat to saving the world…

Review:
Finally getting back to this series. It's been a little bit.

Here we follow Andrea Nash whose life has been turned around. She was kicked out of the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid. She and her best friend have started a new company that is having issues getting off the ground. Her and boyfriend have broken up. She just wants to move on, but she is asked to investigate the murder of several shapeshifters who work for, guess it, her ex. As she searches for the killer, she is led into the underbelly of Atlanta. On top of trying to save the world, she has to deal with working with her ex and dealing with her feelings that are still there.

Love Andrea. I feel so bad for her. She has not had an easy life and now this whole issue with the Order kicking her because they learned her secret? Gah. I was seeing red for her. And then the whole Raphael thing. Sighs. Can't catch a break.

I did want to smack both of them. Yes, there were some hurts and miscommunication but after two seconds of honest convo...all would be okay. But both are stubborn and hurt. Idiots. I did love the pranks in the middle. Made me chuckle. It was a little annoying how similar their romance story is to Kate and Curran's. A few variances, but it is super similar.

Am I bad that I was rooting for her to have feelings for Roman? I like him. I want him to find love. Maybe when we are done with Raphael and Andrea we can scoot over to his story. I love him. I hope he doesn't turn bad or something dumb.

The narrator was good. I believe she did the last couple I did the audio for. I hope she continues to do them! She is good.

In the end, I enjoyed this. I adore Andrea. I adore Roman. I was bad and wanted to be together, but she is meant to be with Raphael...I get it...but I am biased for Roman. I can't wait to get started on the next book. My only annoyance was that the romance seemed very similar to Kate's. However, I can look past it partially. 4 stars from me.

I've only read one book by this author but I liked it. I will have to read more when I get a chance.

I love Roman - you'll see more of him throughout the series. But he's not meant to settle down... He's too much of a devil. hehe.
