REVIEW:

Seen this was leaving HBO Max soon AND it is Love Month, so why not. Plus I love 'Love Actually' and this def is similar. 

We are in LA and it is Valentine's Day! Intertwining couples and singles across the city will face the pressures, expectations, and feels. 

This was a nice V-Day movie for sure. Make your date watch this. FH came in halfway and watched the rest with me. OF course, I had to explain who was who and what was going in, but he even stayed to watch and this isn't his jam. He didn't LOVE it, but he was like "Not bad." 

Funny enough...that is how I felt. Not a bad film. There was humor. There were OMG moments. There were AWWEEEE moments. But in the end...it was just okay. A nice movie for a lazy day in bed or on the couch with your sweetie. 

My main issue was that there were TOO many characters. It took too long for some reveals on the who-is-who/connections. I get they wanted a OMG or NO-WAY moment, but I was confused too often. Now I know all of the secrets....I don't mind rewatching or having this on in the background while I do chores or write. 

There was ONE secret that had me clapping for joy!! Someone comes out as gay and I was so happy because that was not being represented in the film at all. Kinda mad it took until near the end. I would've loved that to be announced sooner so we could follow the character grow into their truth. 

In the end, this is a very sweet film and good for a date, lazy day, or a good movie in the background. Had a couple issues, but overall it was okay!  3 stars.

Oooooh Molly. You poor girl. But it all works out for you I guess! Sexy neighbor coming to save you from your silly ex, yourself, and you getting stuck on that ledge. Yayy Dave. 

Okay...so yes. Short story. Girl needs saving from the hot neighbor guy. They kiss, they talk, and they find love on a cold Valentine's Day night. It hit all the points you would expect of it, but what I didn't expect was comedy. 

This had me laughing! In a good way mind you! With it...not at it. Molly is hilarious and I enjoyed following her. Dave was funny too. Poor guy is hot but he gets nervous around pretty girls so he has issues landing them...they always think he is a big silent grump who thinks he is better than me. 

This was short so things happen quickly. There is an open-ended ending and it didn't bug me...which is not my norm. I do want more of course. I like solid conclusions...but I was okay with how it ended. I hope they have an HEA!!!!! I'm sure they did.

Not an amazing short story, but it was cute and funny. A good Valentine's Day short story indeed. I'll give it 4 stars.

Well today is the today of LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE! Make sure to hug ALL your loved ones extra hard today. I'm so excited for I actually have a boyfriend on this Valentine's Day. It feels nice. But yeah, I wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day. Sorry I haven't had many posts the last couple of days, work is killing me and I've been trying to get The Colonel's Lady done. I should have that done and the review up by Friday. ^.^

Top Ten Tuesday(14) : Books That Broke My Heart

~The Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.~

Even though I'm a bitter, bitter woman on this day every year, I will say it...happy Valentine's Day! Why am I so bitter? Well, for twenty straight years I've been single on Valetine's Day. Pretty sad? Yes, I'll have boyfriends before and after, but never on. That is why I'm bitter. I decided to do TTT, because of the topic...books that broke my heart. It fits, because I'm usually recovering from a broken heart on this day.

Sorry for the pity party up there *removes streamers and broken hearted confetti* Shall we begin?

10. The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank. Such a sad story...even when nothing bad is going on you, you are under a cloud of misery, because you know whats going to happen.

9. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I weep everytime I read this story. Not only is the story heart-meltingly sad, but I can't help but think when I read this. Alzheimer's runs through my family something fierce. I can't help but imagining my future husband going through this if I get it. Ugh *eyes well up*, so sad, so sad. But I love it so!

8. Cold Mountain by Charles Fraizer. Another extremely sad book that I'm absolutely in love with! I can't say much without ruining the ending for those of you lucky few who haven't seen the movie or read the book.

7. The Knight of Maision Rouge by Alexandre Dumas. This wasn't my favorite novel, but I still felt my heart break at the end. After so much strife and work, they couldn't save Marie Antoinette or even themselves. It was really sad.

6. Mademoiselle Boylen by Robin Maxwell. Just the Anne Boylen story makes me sad. However, this was set during the early part of Anne's life, which was set in the French Court. The books ends with her coming home and looking forward to life in England. My heart broke, because she had no idea what fate was going to bestow on her. Robin Maxwell did a wonderful job with the ending.

5. Night by Elie Wiesel. This book is about Mr. Wiesel's experience in the concentration camps during WWII. The statement instatenly can break anyone's heart. The book will break your heart in a million pieces.

4. Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn. It just broke my heart, because it took so many lifetimes for these two souls to finally get their happily ever after.

3. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Such a doomed love from the very start. Even though both Heathcliff and Catherine are buttcheeks, it still made my heart break for them. I rooted for them to runaway together and get their happily ever after. I also felt bad for the innocent bystanders that were hurt because of the fate that was given to the two lovers 

2. The Two Towers by JRR Tolkein. This is my favorite out of the trilogy, but it broke my heart for a couple of reasons: the followship was broken and my favorite character was killed being all heroic and whatnot! UGH!

1. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. Such a depressing and heart-breaking novel! There is so much bad and sad things going around that it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why must we poor readers be put through so much pain and striff? Why do we put ourselves through this heartbreak? Why? Well...we like it. We like having our hearts bleed for fictional (and in some cases nonfictional) characters. Secretly, we like to verify that our lives are much better than those silly book stories. Haha.
