In the middle of America, on Route 44, Amy Lewis has a plan — to get to her grandma’s house in time for dinner. Galaxies away Loki is waking up in a prison cell, strangely without a hangover, and with no idea what he’s done wrong — this time anyway. But he does know Thor is hiding something, Odin is up to something wicked, and there seems to be something he’s forgotten...

A random find that stars Loki and has a cool cover. So why not?

The story follows Amy Lewis who is on a car ride with her pup. At the same time, Loki is waking up in a prison cell. He gets out, because duh...it is Loki, but he ends up crashing to the middle of America. He saves Amy and they team up.

This had a strong start. I was hooked from the first paragraph. I was curious about how everything was going to go down. As the story went along I started getting bored. I nearly gave up but then something happened (can't say) I was hooked again for a bit. Things slowly started falling apart again but I had hope.

And then the ending.

Sighs.

It was a HUGE cliffhanger and it upset me greatly. I am curious about book 2, but not really. Not that cliffhangers are bad, but the story was not intriguing enough to make me want to continue. Maybe someday if I stumble upon book 2, but I won't go digging or spend money on it.

Overall this wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. There were some good parts and I liked Loki. Amy was okay. I adored Amy's pup. Cute! However...there were so many boring parts and the huge cliffhanger upset me. Maybe I'll read book 2 someday, but I'm not freaking out if I never do. I'll stamp this with 2 stars.

Good to know. I had this as a freebie, but I don't think I'll bother since it doesn't standalone or at least close out this story. The bored part is a death knell, but having to commit to more to get the whole story is worse. Thanks for taking it for the team, Carole. :)
