Montana is a adrenaline junkie, but after a accident she had to give it up. Even her kid. Yes that was pretty heartbreaking. Her brain took a hit that sometimes she just has these blackouts, so she spent 10 years with her parents instead.

Now she is back, starting a new career, getting to know her kid. It also seems I missed some drama in the previous book when she came back to her ex and his new girlfriend. Maybe for the best . I still do not understand the whole giving up for 10 years, I mean couldn't she have lived in the same city and had visits with her daughter that were supervised?

Anyway she is back, building a life. Trying to connect with her hunky neighbor Eddie.

But then there is some drama, and Eddie is hurt. I liked Eddie, he was such a good man, and now his life is totally different because of an act of violence.

Sweet story.

Good narrator. I liked her voices and she set a nice pace and tone to the story 

Montana Banks has returned to Wild River, Alaska, for a fresh start. Adventure has always been in her blood, but while an injury leaves her unable to participate in her favorite extreme sports, Montana settles for teaching base-jumping classes at her friend's tour company. Settling in has been almost too easy: a great job, her family's acceptance and her own apartment--right next door to straitlaced police officer Eddie Sanders.

Review: 

A while back I had read the little prequel short story and it had made me curious about the other Angels. This was really cheap on Amazon so I went ahead and grabbed it

The story follows lady Courtney who is deadly with the bow and had been raised with a band of thieves and murderers. With her different skills, it is without a doubt a great idea to have her be an Angel for the Queen. After an attempt on the Queen's life, Courtney has a mission to follow a lead. However, she will not be going alone. She is saddled with Malcolm Ross who had been a longtime bodyguard and can't believe one of his kinsmen might be involved in the plot. He will have to make a choice between loyalty to his laird and his loyalty to his heart. 

Courtney kicks ass. I wish we could've seen more of her skills in other battles. She's a fun character and I wish we had more time with her. I liked Ross too. Especially with how much he loves his dang dog. So cute! Ross and Court were very cute together and they fit each other well. Ross has his heart on his sleeve and Court is a little cold and reserved. 

Oo that baddie certainly was a baddie. However, I feel like there is more going on. I do not think that baddie is the main one we will be seeing. We'll have to read book 2 I guess to see what happens next ;) ! 

Honestly....I wish we had had more time with Court and Ross. I feel like there was more we could've seen. They had hook-ups in the past and obviously had feelings for each other for years, but I felt like I was missing something with these two. We needed more time to see them fall in love. 

All-in-all this was a fun story with a fun cast of characters. I am curious to read more about the other angels. Hopefully, we get more time with them. Maybe we'll see more of Ross and Court in those. I'll give this 3 stars.

Movie Review: A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)

This has been on my TW list. I randomly found this on Hulu the other day while scrolling through looking for something silly to watch. This for sure fit what I needed. 

As we all know the Wild Wild West was not an easy world...especially for cowards like Albert and his best friend Edward. When a mysterious woman comes to town, he finds that he actually may have some sort of courage to take on a deadly outlaw. 

This was funny. Very funny. I actually rewatched it with BF because I knew he would enjoy it as well. However, there was story to this as well as character development. I love slapstick and mindless humor, but I do prefer a legit storyline and real characters that are not just there for humor for. 

I adored Edward and Ruth. They were so cute. 

Albert was adorable....but I am biased since I have a small crush on Seth MacFarlane. ;) But Albert was great especially when he was learning to shoot. 

Poor Anna who got stuck with a crappy and evil hubbie. WHICH Liam Neeson plays an awesome baddie. He should play that role more often. 

This was cheesy...100% so be prepared for that. And it is R rated which means it is a little graphic and has some crude humor. Not everyone's cup-a-tea, so I want to get that out there for folks. However, none of that didn't take over the story so that was nice (I do get annoyed when it is over-the-top). 

OOOOOO that final clip at the end was fun! What a nice little cherry-on-top! 

Overall, I liked this a lot. It gave me the humor I needed after such a rough week at work. I'll give this 4 stars. 

Audiobook Review: Counterclockwise by Alethea Kontis

Edith Hornby lives in the clockwise universe--Edward Moriarty lives widdershins. But they meet often enough throughout their lives to form a bond even stronger than that which holds the universes together...

Review:

I randomly stumbled upon this one in Audible while I was looking for something short and sweet to finish up my work week. This caught my eye right away. I didn't even read the summary. I just started listening (I should do this more often)

In this story, Nov 5th happened. Guy Fawke's Gunpowder Plot was successful. However, it resulted in a schism that split the British Prime Universe into two planes of existence. Every Hallows Eve the bonds that keep the multiverses apart pulls a body from one plane of existence to the other for one day. Edith Hornby lives in the clockwise universe and Edward Moritarty lives in the widdershins. However, they keep meeting each other throughout their lives and they form a bond and love that transcends all universes. 

This was very sweet and very sad. I felt bad for them because they could never, ever be together like how they want. It reminded me of the Doctor Who and River Song. So sad. 

It was fun to watch everything from Edith's eyes. I do wish we could've seen more of Edward and what he had to go through. Maybe another book? *hint hint* But I liked both of them. 

I do feel this could've been an amazing read. Don't get me wrong... I liked it a lot, but it could've been amazing. I feel there could've been more for these characters and more for this world. It is such a GREAT concept. I felt like this was a cliffnotes version. 

The narrator was good. She did a wonderful job. I would like to listen to more. 

Overall, I liked this. It was sweet and short. I do want more from these characters and from this world. I'll give this 3 stars.
