Summary:
We're the D'Artigo Sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we're savvy--and sexy--operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Delilah shapeshifts into a tabby cat whenever she's stressed. Menolly's a vampire who's still trying to get the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Camille--a wicked-good witch. Except my magic is as unpredictable as the weather, which my enemies are about to find out the hard way...

At the Wayfarer Inn, a portal to Otherworld and the local hangout for humans and beasties alike, our fellow operative, Jocko, has been murdered. Every clue points to Shadow Wing, the soul-munching, badass leader of the Subterranean Realms. He's made it clear that he aims to raze humankind to the ground, turning both Earth and Otherworld into his private playground. Our assignment: keep Shadow Wing and his minions from creeping into Earth via the Wayfarer. The demons figure they're in like Flynn. After all, with only my bumbling sisters and me standing in the way, how can they miss? But we've got a secret for them: Faulty wiring or not, nobody kicks ass like the D'Artigo girls. . .

Review:
My friend recommended that I check this out. I was super curious, plus, I needed a good UF and this sounded like a blast.

We have the D'Artigo girls who are half-breeds. Half human and half Fae. They have powers but due to their mixed blood their powers can have some issues and glitches. For instances, our main heroine, Camille, has natural powers of a witch, but...they tend to backfire. They are also part of Otherworld Intelligence Agency - OIA. When their partner, Jacko, is found murdered they are put on the case. However, things are turning dark and every clue is pointing to Shadow Wing who is a badass leader of the Subterranean Realm. He has made it clear that he aims to raze humankind to the ground and turn both Earth and the Otherworld into his worlds.

I picked this up because I needed a fresh breath air for the UF genre. It is so hard to find a good series. They all tend to be cookie-cutter. Badass human with a power and a vamp and werewolf are in love with her. Sure there are some good series like that, but it does get old. We do have a half-human badass girl here, but I love how her powers are a little unstable and she is half Fae so she is familiar with the supernatural. So far there have been no vamps or shifters sniffing around her bed, so yayy. We do have every male wanting her though which got a little old, but it was fun because the Otherworlders are not like us humans....they pretty much have open relationships and that is the norm for them. Different for sure.

I liked Camille. I did get a little annoyed that EVERY guy wants her on sight. I mean...sure....she's hawt, but meh. I want her to get with Morio. He's hot. ;) Screw Trillian. He's too alpha.

I am curious about the other sisters. We got to see them a little bit, but I am curious to learn more about them.

The mystery was fun. Sad, because Jacko seemed so lovable. Poor guy.

The baddie is going to be a blast when he comes on the scene. Curious to see how they are going to deal with that!

Oooo Smoky. I like ya. A dragon with a small soft spot for innocent humans ;) Too cute.

The narrator was good! I feel like I have heard her before. I hope she does the next one. She really brought everyone and the story to life. I think if I do book 2, I want to do her narration if possible.

All-in-all, I did enjoy this a lot. Some meh parts. I am curious about book 2! Overall, I'll give this 3 stars

Melliane, first one for me.

B, Yes. 100%. There is lust. No real love here so I do not find myself marking this one on the Bingo sheet.

I've never read her stuff, but I see her name everywhere. Glad you found something new to read.
