REVIEW:
Okay....I finally got myself to watch this. I've been avoiding this movie and the other ones like it. Don't get me wrong...I will watch interview upon interview and documentaries about 911, but watching a movie? I don't know...I just never could do it. Even typing up this review took me forever to do. I watched the the day after 911 and it is now just getting posted 10/2.

This follows two Port Authority police officers who become trapped in the rubble of World Trade Center when it crumbled to the ground after an attack. We also get to follow their wives and family while they not only have to deal with the attack on the US but also not knowing where their husbands are and if they survived.

This had me in tears the entire time. The moment the first plane hit and these guys went rushing down to help I was sobbing. I knew that they survived but it still had me on edge. I kept saying "HURRY!! SAVE THEM!"

Even after they are saved I was still sobbing because the rescuers only saved a few people from the rubble. Which....of course. Those were tall buildings and that is a lot of weight crashing down. Freakin' tragic.

There is one controversial thing in the movie and that is the race of one of the rescuers. They casted the wrong race. Which it wasn't done maliciously. They really had no idea until things were already in production and wrapping up (from what I read). Even the film producer apologized to the real life person for the racial inaccuracy in the movie. Which I honestly think was big of him to apologize. The real life hero stated, "I don't want to shed any negativity on what they were trying to show," (according to this article). Am I annoyed this error accorded? Yes, completely. I'm glad the film producer said something and apologized instead of ignoring it.

This movie was fantastic. It really captured the day and the events. It was for sure tragic to see things on the ground there. I was in Michigan watching it all on the TV. It is a different perspective seeing it in this way.

Overall, worth the watch. Get the tissue though!

4 stars.

Ooo, got me. I watched one of the first documentaries, 9/11, from two guys, Jules and Gédéon Naudet, who happen to be filming in the area when it happened. It was pretty good.

I've not watched any of the movies or documentaries from the events of that day. But I can imagine how emotional it would be. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Glad you enjoyed.

Considering it was a real life person one thinks they could just have looked at a photo

vvb32, oooo. I haven't watched that one.

Jen, it took a long time for me to get myself to watch it.

B, from what I read he didn't reveal himself right away so I do not think they knew. However, I'm curious why they didn't ask the other hero (blanking on his name) and ask? IDK. Could've been avoided.
