Book Review: Dragon Wars by Rich Scribes

Author: Rich Scribes
Title: Dragon Wars
Genre: Short Story, Fantasy, & Fiction
Pages: ebook
Published: October 2012
Where I Got It: My shelf (Amazon Freebie)

Two realms collide in this epic introduction of Dragon Wars: A Dragon Novella. Bryce, has always believed to himself that he was just a typical teenage boy, until one day he is attacked in the school court yard and his attacker wants to kidnap him. Bryce's world is turn upside down when he is told that he may be the key to opening up another world. A world that he didn't knew existed...

I couldn't resist picking this one up because I adore dragon stories and it was also a freebie. Two things I love!

However...this was a letdown.

I liked the concept a lot, but the actual execution was poorly done. This needed some serious editing and a second pair of eyes. Some grammar issues, but mainly the dialogue needed some work. It seemed so choppy and unrealistic in places.

Even with the issues, I am curious to learn more about the world. There is such potential here! The author really did have a good idea...but there needs to be some more work on the structure, grammar, and presentation.

Poor Bryce...I felt so bad for him. What is wrong with his parents?? That is something that shouldn't be kept a secret. >_<

In the end, I am bummed. This has so much potential! I am curious what is going to happen next, but I'm not sure if I can move forward because of the lack of editing. I am glad that this was free. I'll stamp this with 2 stars.
