Book Review: Haunting Nathan by Lillie J. Roberts

Author: Lillie J. Roberts
Title: Haunting Nathan (Haunted Dreams #1)
Genre: Paranormal Romance & Short Story
Pages: ebook
First Published: September 2014
Where I Got It: My shelf (Given to me for my honest and unbiased opinion by the author/publisher)

A natural skeptic, Nathan Daniels is challenged by his professor to write his thesis on existence of spectral energy—supernatural in nature. Entertained by the idea and prepared to debunk the possibility, he’s in for a shock. Not only is his new apartment haunted, but he finds the hazy pull of the pretty blonde in white go-go boots and pink miniskirt irresistible.

Ande Conners is caught in lonely limbo—and unfortunately—stuck wearing the Halloween costume she died in decades earlier. Pacing the same apartment without hope of change or release, she can almost feel her absent heart beating faster when Nathan moves in and sets up his ghost busting equipment.

Reaching out to him in those moments between consciousness and dream, she seeks his help. Can they make a connection? Will he be the one to help her move beyond this world or does fate have something else in store for the two of them?

Such a weird romance! Weird in a good way though! Gotta love the author's creativity and making an old story fresh and new and different! Girl meets boy, they fall in love, the all is lost moment (they can't be together), and then finally an HEA.

Now...this was a short story, so it is going to be short, so the romance and story-line moves quickly. This honestly could have been awesome as a long novel, but I will take what I can get haha. This is only book 1 in the series, so maybe the next ones will be longer. *fingers crossed*

Poor Ande. :/ Such a tragedy. She was in an accident and killed on her way to a Halloween party decades ago. Not only is she stuck in limbo, but she is stuck in a costume without panties. I would be mad if that was the outfit I got stuck in as a ghost. Plus its a terrible reminder of the fun she was suppose to have. It made me really sad for a personal reason. Imagine the life she could have had! She could have met a great guy at that Halloween party like I did (I met Boyfriend at a Halloween party). Granted...she would've never met Nathan...so ugh! I feel so bad that she had to spend 30 years alone to find her true love, but still. Was it worth the pain and loneliness?

ANYWAYS

I wasn't a huge fan of one part of the hospital scene. I can't say what...but I feel like that was a bad place to do it. 0.o Besides for that, I loved the rest of the scene.

This was a quick read, but man...it was a great lead up to great series. Ande and Nathan get their HEA, but damn...it seemed an impossible feat! Darn you Lillie for making me worried that wouldn't be able to get to each other! *waves fist* haha, but kuddos...I had no idea how everything would end and that made me happy. I def recommend this for those that need a quick read, but one that will hold you on the edge of your seat. I also recommend those that want a weird, but awesome paranormal romance. Out of five stars, I stamp this with 4 stars.

Favorite Character(s): Ande, Nathan, & Ande's aunt
Not-so Favorite Character(s): Roger

It's nice that it was something a little different. I don't think I knew about this one.
