New Idea: Facts and Tagging

I have an idea, everyone! *everyone screams and hides* I know, I know...ideas and creativity is against the law and I might be heading to jail any minute. Haha. My idea could strengthen ties amongst blogs and bloggers, spread the word about blogs you love, and just spread a little love and fun! Does that catch your fancy?

Okay, I got this idea from YouTube and all the '5 Facts' videos I've watched, so what if we did that? Give five or so facts about ourselves and then tag other bloggers!

"What are you rambling on about, Carole?" You may be asking, but there's a string of videos circulating throughout YouTube that was created to showcase 5 random facts about themselves (the user). Not only do they ramble about themselves, but then they 'tag' other users. They tag 5 other users. Those 5 then give 5 facts about themselves and tag 5 more people! Its a way for youtubers to learn more about others and spread their names. It's a win-win tagging game!

Well, I watched a few of these and it had me thinking...what if me/we created a circulation of posts through Blogger! Not only will this showcase yourself and your blog, but it'll make more personal connections with other Bloggers. Maybe we could give it a shot. If it falls through, oh well. I have to try new things and play with ideas.

To change it up a little bit, we'll up it to six facts and at least 'tag' six other Bloggers/blogs. You don't have to 'tag' anyone else, but it would be nice. Spread the love and that jazz! Your six facts can be anything you want to share.

What do you all think about this idea?

The more I think of this idea, the more I like it. We'll kick start idea next week sometime. I'll formulate this idea more, make some simple guidelines (everything needs rules or guidelines), and etc. Any ideas to help make this an ever better idea and tag game?

PS - Here's an example of the most recent video I've watched. It was created by tiukudaa:

Here's another one (one with actually tags) created by thesilv424:

Thanks! Give me some more ideas to expand this idea!

Next Movie of the Week

The original plan was to announce the next Movie of the Week on Monday, but I hadn't decided on the movie yet. There are so many I want to watch that it's hard to determine which one to watch and review. Sorry. Anyways, the next Movie of the Week is *drumrolls*.........................Braveheart!

There are a couple reasons why I picked this classic and beloved movie. 1) I haven't seen it in a LONG time, so I guess its time to visit the past, 2) I'm part Scottish (as many can tell) and I'm proud of this movie and it makes me feel connected to my ancestors, and 3) I'll be writing a paper on this film for my Sociology class; I have watch this and analysis this is a Sociological manner. Exciting, no? Here's a trailer:

Can't wait!

PS - I miss the old Mel Gibson, he was such a hunk back in the day when he was young and not crazy. ^.^

Dusty Reads (5)

~This is a weekly meme created by Xpressoreads that showcases books that have been sitting on your shelf for a while and is a little dusty...~

Tuesday is once again upon us! Ahhhh! That means I have class today. =( Oh well. I skipped my first class of the day. I know. I know. I'm in the teacher program and I skip a class? Yes, I'm a bad coconut sometimes. Anyways, the book I'm dusting off today is...Queen of Subtleties by Suzannah Duhn.

"Anne Boleyn and Lucy Cornwallis: queen and
confectioner, fatefully linked in a court
rife with intrigue and treachery
She was the dark-eyed English beauty who captivated King Henry VIII, only to die at his behest three years after they were married. She was both manipulator and pawn, a complex, misunderstood melange of subtlety and fire. Her name was Anne Boleyn.
"In The Queen of Subtleties," Suzannah Dunn reimagines the rise and fall of the tragic queen through two alternating voices: that of Anne herself, who is penning a letter to her young daughter on the eve of her execution, and Lucy Cornwallis, the king's confectioner. An employee of the highest status, Lucy is responsible for creating the sculpted sugar centerpieces that adorn each of the feasts marking Anne's ascent in the king's favor. They also share another link of which neither woman is aware: the lovely Mark Smeaton, wunderkind musician--the innocent on whom, ultimately, Anne's downfall hinges."
This wouldn't be my first Suzannah Duhn book or my first book about Queen Anne. I'm a fan Ms. Duhn and I simple adore Queen Anne (as many of you know). However, this has been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years now. I think the reason why I'm so anti-reading this is because I've heard a lot of negative reviews about this. Usually, I like to test the negative reviews and see for myself, but they have been holding me back from reading this...
What do you guys think? How many of you read this? Did you like it? Hate it? Think it was okay?
