Review:

Making my way through the series for the 2nd time. Been having an itch for this world and who knows when the next (or IF) will come out.

Meg has won the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard. Meg has had some trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. She is caught in-between two worlds. She is human but she is a prophet. While she is trying to find her place and find a balance in herself, an appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others. When Meg dreams about blood and black feathers in the snow they wonder if it is a vision of the future or a past attack. As the urge to cut and speak more prophecies surges, Meg, the Others, and some trusted humans must work together to stop a terrible man who wants to reclaim her. 

The events haven't even settled from book 1 and there is more trouble on the horizon. I know what happens but I was still nervous for our people. The humans are DUMB. SUPER DUMB. I honestly don't get why they have to be SO dumb!!!!!!! If I was in this world I would be BFFs with the Others. They are strong and magical. The humans in this world have nothing but some technology. Idiots. 

I remember barely liking Meg and Simon in my first read through. But by the end of the series I fell in love with them. I carry this love with me here. I love them but I can see WHY I was annoyed by them the first time around. They are so rocky in their friendships. Meg is traumatized and still trying to find herself.

Now, I will say this one is pretty sad...we get to see more into the world of what the cassandra sangue (blood prophets) have to deal with. They are abused, manipulated, extorted, kidnapped, and raped/molested. Luckily they don't go into GREAT detail, but it does hurt your heart (or at least SHOULD). Humans are monsters to their fellow humans. No wonder why the Others do not trust them. But yes, far warning here in this book. 

The narrator is fantastic and perfect and wonderful. 

Yes, read this series. It is awesome.
