Now, this one follows Morgan. We got a glimpse of her in the last couple of books. She has arrived to town and it seems she has powers too so that means she is somehow related to the previous characters. Poor Morgan was abandoned when she was a babe so she has no idea who she is or where she comes from. Poor girl was an orphan in a Catholic orphanage and they treated her horribly because she has powers. She is a jack of all magic trades. She has a touch of mind-reading and healing. She also has the awesome power of telekinesis. Patrick is a beloved local boy who has been drawn to her since he had seen her at the wedding for Keelin.

I understood why Morgan was the way she was, but she was horrible to Patrick. Yes, Patrick had some issues being patient, but he never pushed her in anything. Morgan has never been a relationship so she has a lot of rough edges and she is constantly pushing Patrick away. PLUS they are 18, so they are young and dumb on top of it all. Young love. 

I enjoyed watching Morgan fall in love with the town, Patrick, and herself. She had a lot of demons to fight and everyone is there to help her. 

There was one part near the end that had me yelling and I did shed some tears! Ugh! Luckily this is a HEA type of book, so I knew somehow, some way it would be fixed. Thank goodness, but I was really scared!!! I cannot say what, but I was worried!

The narrator is the same as the previous ones and she was flawless. After this series is done I must listen to more by her. 

In the end, I was frustrated with these two characters, but they had a lot to work through especially Morgan. It fit well and I enjoyed the journey. There was a lot of feels in this one. I am sad because I am nearly done with the series. I think there are 2 books left? SAD! But a good series that I highly recommend. I'll stamp this with 4 stars. 

Book Review: The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

Nana the cat is on a road trip. He is not sure where he's going or why, but it means that he gets to sit in the front seat of a silver van with his beloved owner, Satoru. Side by side, they cruise around Japan through the changing seasons, visiting Satoru's old friends. He meets Yoshimine, the brusque and unsentimental farmer for whom cats are just ratters; Sugi and Chikako, the warm-hearted couple who run a pet-friendly B&B; and Kosuke, the mournful husband whose cat-loving wife has just left him. There's even a very special dog who forces Nana to reassess his disdain for the canine species. 

But what is the purpose of this road trip? And why is everyone so interested in Nana? Nana does not know and Satoru won't say. But when Nana finally works it out, his small heart will break... 

This drew me in right away from the moment I saw the cover. I was hooked from page one. 

The story follows Nana the cat and Satoru the human. We get to see the story in both of their POVs. They are on a road trip to find someone who can take in Nana. We don't get to know why until near the end. Nana is not aware either but is just along for the ride.

I really enjoyed this book. It took a little bit for me to like Satoru's POV, but by the end, I grew to adore him. Now Nana? Loved him. That sassy little cat made me smile. 

It was interesting to learn about our characters slowly. The more people we meet up with, the more we get to learn about Satoura and even Nana. We get to see why Satoura really loves his cat. Even though he trying to find a new home, he just cannot let him go. It was really sweet and I had my guesses on WHY he was trying to find a new home. 

There were some funny moments and then the ending had me in tears. 

Yes, I cried. Ugh! So sad, so sweet! OHHHHH the feels. It struck a real cord in my heart. Such a good story. My poor boyfriend was concerned. When I tried to explain the book, I started crying again. So beautiful. 

In the end, I highly encourage you to read this book. It is a good story about a man and his cat on an adventure. Lots of feels. Happy and sad. A great book. I'll stamp this with 5 stars. 

Audiobook Review: Wild Irish Soul by Tricia O'Malley

Irresistibly drawn to his presence, yet convinced that the uptight doctor is a poor match for her free-flowing artistic soul, Aislinn is torn. Both Aislinn and Baird will have to suspend their beliefs as they tumble headfirst into a messy, unrepentant love that challenges both to accept each other unequivocally. 

Couldn’t resist listening to this so soon! I wanted to wait out, but the ending of the last had me curious! A new hot doctor in town? Eeeerrrrr. YES!

But yes, this story follows Aislinn (which I love that name btw) who is Keelin’s half-sister (love her name too) and her power is being able to see people’s feelings and auroras of the world. She is arty and a free spirit. I adored her. She is who I wish I could be. Dr Yummy (as Cait calls him) aka Baird has come to town to open his new practice. He is a psychologist and is drawn to Aislinn and her to him. Things happen pretty quickly. They have the lust down-pat, but the love? THAT is a whole different can of worms. 

This worked out well. It seemed to really fit them. Baird is a man of science and Aislinn is a free-spirit who lives in a town of magic. So they clash A LOT. I did get so annoyed with Baird but what do you expect? He isn’t going to believe in the magic right away. There was one point when I feel Aislinn forgave him too quickly. I would’ve been SO SO hurt. BUT true love is about forgiveness. I guess I am a bitter bird. 

I enjoyed this journey as much as Keelin’s. I had no real issue overall. I love Aislinn. I love the town. I liked Baird even though there was a moment when I was really mad at him. Uncool bro!!!!! *shakes fist* This is such a fun series!

The narrator was the same as the last one and I adored her. I think she does the rest of the series as well so I am excited. 

In the end, I’ll stamp this with 5 stars. I just loved this book. I am in love with this series overall. There are some books left to read/listen and I am excited!

What are things are you drawn to when choosing your next read?

There are so many things that draw me in when I am picking my next read. Where to even begin? I feel like it all depends on the genre and feeling. 

Ah yes.

First thing is feeling. I go with how I am feeling. Do I want something light? Something heavy? Something fantastical? Something random? 

I have been trying to be more scheduled the last couple of years especially now that I do some reading for publishers and authors, but when the choice is mine, I go with a feeling. 

Once I have a feeling picked out. I’ll go with which book fits that feeling the best. It sounds complex, but the heart knows what the mind wants. 

If I am unsure, I will let my friend pick or my boyfriend pick. That rarely happens, but there are times when I have no feeling to point me in the right way. 

I should've put this one on a canvas instead of my painting book. Super cute.
