This was surreal on crack, and I do like weird lit.

Samantha has writer´s block. She is a student and her group is scary. They all just all call each other bunny and hug. Then they invite her, she does hesitate but she goes and shit happens, like what is going on? I can´t tell you either because that means spoilers, but someone mentioned Alice in Wonderland and it fits. It gets surreal, there is weirdness and when you think you know, you do not.

Weird lit is fun. You never know where it is headed. I guess this is under horror, but it is never like SCARY, just wtf am I on?

I liked it a lot.

The person I borrowed it from dnfed it, people on my friend list had dnfed it, and it was meh, but I wanted to see if the romance would pay out. BOOM! I got hit in the face, wtf happened? The romance part suddenly imploded. Was this not a cozy paranormal romance? Eh..ok?

Nope, now we are all about the curse because this is a family of witches. And oh no, grandma is dying and we are all doomed!

Boom! Bloody hell, that effing romance is back. I hate this romance. It sucked! What the heck was that?!

I honestly do not know what this book was meant to be. Paranormal cozy? Nope changed. Romance? Nope, changed. It was messy and it made me mad at the end.

Yes yes I should have given up, but I wanted to know.

 I kept seeing reviews how I would hate Natalie, and sure I did not like her. She was horrible. But at the end I just felt sorry for her.

She was clearly depressed already in College, after the first kid even more. She should have gotten help then. Instead she seems to turn more manic, people throw money at her. And she has enablers. No one ever seems to point the finger at the ever more rightwing conspiracy freak of a husband. I just cant hate someone who seems really mentally unstable, and I do not think she ever got help. She is just evil, nah, the woman needs some psychiatric help.

I feel like I read another book then everyone else. Why did no one ever help her?! I get it is hard to help someone who does not know they need help but come on.

Natalie marries young, moves to a farm, starts to film her life. Think Ballerina farm. Smile and pretend everyone is happy, even though everyone is miserable. She only cares about likes. She is focused and driven and pretends to be the best Trad Wife there is.

And then she is transported to the 1800s. And being a real trad wife sucks....

I liked it, it was good. I enjoyed the twists, but, srsly, why did no one ever help her?

I did feel like I was thrown into the middle of a story. Nomad is on the run and jumps from planet to planet to escape some bad guys. And this planet sucks. You have to be on the move constantly escaping the sun. It is so powerful that it melts everything in its path. Luckily the planet is small but yes run run run around the planet.

And a crazy guy wants to rule everyone. He also leaves people to burn to death and then collect their souls to power the machines that take them across the world.

Nomad must save the planet....

Interesting world. Scary world. I enjoyed the story, but at the same time. Maybe I am like beginning to tire, everything is good, but not fantastic anymore

Years ago he had comrades in arms and a cause to believe in, but now the man who calls himself Nomad knows only a life on the run. So this is listed as a horror. Someone called it pink horror. But yeah there is no horror, it is more a supernatural story.

Annie decides to make a new life as her boyfriend leaves her. This takes her to a teaching job in a small town. There she meets a Fabolous woman! Everyone loves this woman....or do they?

Her and Sophie becomes great friends. Sophie in her big empty house. Spiders. Strange things happening.

But this was about Sophie finding herself and being happy what she finds.

I liked it. It was another easy fun read

All her life, Annie has played it nice and safe. After being unceremoniously dumped by her longtime boyfriend, Annie seeks a fresh start. She accepts a teaching position that moves her from Manhattan to a small village upstate. She’s stunned by how perfect and picturesque the town is. The people are all friendly and warm. Her new apartment is dreamy too, minus the oddly persistent spider infestation.  

Then Annie meets Sophie. Beautiful, charming, magnetic Sophie, who takes a special interest in Annie, who wants to be her friend. More importantly, she wants Annie to stop apologizing and start living for herself. That’s how Sophie lives. Annie can’t help but gravitate toward the self-possessed Sophie, wanting to spend more and more time with her, despite the fact that the rest of the townsfolk seem…a little afraid of her. And like, okay. There are some things. Sophie’s appearance is uncanny and ageless, her mansion in the middle of the woods feels a little unearthly, and she does seem to wield a certain power…but she couldn’t be…could she?

This book had calm pace, and sure not a lot happened, but it was good and sometimes you will just drift along.

It is about Yeongju who is burned out and opens a bookstore. At first it goes, not so well, but little by little she finds herself and the bookstore starts to to become a place people wants to visit.

She meets new people who becomes friends. The man who cant find a job and becomes a barista. A student unsure about his path in life, a office guy turned writer, a woman who turns about and just stares for hours. They all have their reason and they all fall in love with the bookshop.

Have I heard about Korean work ethics? Sure, but damn, no wonder people are burned out. And there is a lot of talk about that here. People who work until midnight, go home and start again. People who have non permanent positions but are not given real ones because they are easy to fire. And then those who downtrade, they have a better job but then do a lesser one. But are happier, still society values those better jobs more.

Will this bookshop thrive? Who knows, but Yeongju and the people she has met will do their best.

I enjoyed it, but yes it is a slower one and about people. You just have to go with the flow.

Yeongju is burned out. With her high-­flying career, demanding marriage, and busy life in Seoul, she knows she should feel successful, but all she feels is drained. Yet an abandoned dream nags at her, and in a leap of faith, she leaves her old life behind. After quitting her job and divorcing her husband, Yeongju moves to a small residential neighborhood outside the city, where she opens the Hyunam-dong Bookshop.

This takes place after the previous books, and yes I did miss Priest. But you do not have to have read those to understand this one. It is a new chapter.

Eline kills her husband because he was a controlling, abusive ahole. But then she also realises that she killed her husband and this is bad. The Queen's Men show up and offer her a deal and it is a bad deal, but it is better than being hanged.

Take a job at a local brothel and solve who killed a Duke.

Little bit of mystery, thriller in a dark fantasy setting. The world feels very bleak. But Eline is tougher than she thinks and grows a lot in this book.

I liked it.

Eline is a mother, a wife, and a survivor. But her life is about to change dramatically. Following an act of horrific - if righteous - vengeance, Eline is blackmailed into the service of the Queen's Men. She knows it will be a hard life of violence and fear. I am conflicted, I love Sanderson, but it is just...this was sort of dull.

I love the idea of it. Two worlds, two souls that visit each other. Yumi is powerful for her people and not really allowed to do anything except get spirits to come. Then she ends up in another world and meets Painter, but as their souls kind of switched he is kind of a ghosts. Painter as she calls him protects sleeping people from living nightmares, but now he cant do anything. Except when he is in her world, where he is in her body and there he is helpless too and the people wonder why she can not bring out spirits anymore.

BUT, I do not know, I was kind of meh about the whole thing. I did not give up, cos hello Sanderson. But for me this was not one of his better ones

Yumi comes from a land of gardens, meditation, and spirits, while Painter lives in a world of darkness, technology, and nightmares. When their lives suddenly become intertwined in strange ways, can they put aside their differences and work together to uncover the mysteries of their situation and save each other’s communities from certain disaster??

I decided to try all in this series. All the ways they could get engaged.

In this one Lizzy sneaks out to a houseparty when she is 17...in London! And it is not a normal party, now it is much much worse. She is "rescued" by Darcy and then the long wait begins. Her uncle say they must marry, her father refuses to give in, Darcy refuses to marry her.

3 years later they meet again when Darcy wants to court someone and he needs to get out of this "engagement" it is not real, but neither is he free to marry.

Darcy was a right horse´s ass in this one. So proud and did not give in.

Lizzy suffered for years ass people realised something was wrong and she was shunned. And her family treated her bad.

Bingley grew some balls, good on you Bingley!

Lizzy needs to marry, and Darcy will help her. And they fall in love! After much drama.

Another fun variation, even if Darcy was such an ahole. I thought they would never end up together. This one was a tough one.

Fun narration. All well done

Well this was different, and it really has a lot to do with the PTA.

Vivian´s daughter is horribly mutilated and bit by a werewolf...and now she is one! Wtf to do?! The werewolf clan gets them into a magical school, but life is hard.

Everyone has powers. There are sirens, wizards, you name it. And Aria stands out, not everyone is all shifter friendly. And who knew kindergarten was a cut throat business? You have to do well in 3 trials cos else you are kicked out of school.

Vivian navigates trying to prepare her child for kindergarten, the trials, a scary prophecy going around, and even scarier PTA ladies. It is hard to know who your friend is.

I liked it, but it took a few chapters, mostly cos we were as thrown into this world as Vivian was.

Two parents and their recently-bitten-werewolf daughter try to fit into a privileged New England society of magic aristocracy. But deadly terrors await them – ancient prophecies, remorseless magical trials, hidden conspiracies and the PTA bake sale.

First we have Kendra and Gabe. Kendra left a horrible marriage to start fresh. Gabe is a widower. They meet, there is attraction. But she does not want another failed marriage.

There is some tiny drama with someone from her past, but mostly it is these two getting to know each other and her daring to try things again.

Sweet short novella.

Then there is Jane and Spencer. Two foster kids who met a camp, fell in love and lost touch. Now Jane is back to be a counsellor as her life is stuck. Spencer is also one, and he has a ranch now.

He never forgot her. She does not really know what she want. They reconnect, find out what is important in life and get their hea.

Short and sweet too

Good narration. She handled the different stories well.

I enjoyed this one. A haunted house and a dysfunctional family.

Anna is going to Tuscany with her family. They all think she will cause some kind of disaster. They do seem to blame her for everything. They will gaslight her too.

Everything seems pretty nice at first. Sure there are some issues with her brother´s new boyfriend, and her sister can at least be calmed with wine. But doors open, there is scratching, the locals avoid the place. Is the house haunted?

Things are getting creepier. Her family is so toxic and drives me crazy. Like please stop blaming Anna for everything!!

I honestly could not put it down after a while. I had to know!

Anna has two rules for the annual Pace family destination vacations: Tread lightly and survive.

It isn’t easy when she’s the only one in the family who doesn’t quite fit in. Her twin brother, Benny, goes with the flow so much he’s practically dissolved, and her older sister, Nicole, is so used to everyone—including her blandly docile husband and two kids—falling in line that Anna often ends up in trouble for simply asking a question. I decided to give Harlequin a go, I have not read one in ages. And I must say, were they always this passionate? I do not remember it like that since I read these at 10. Not like anything more than normal, but these two really have the hots for each other.

Solace had a one night stand, she was a virgin, they always are, she got pregnant, and omg the babydaddy is a king! And then she was tired, and she did not know she was pregnant and she signed away the rights to her child. 6 months later she is back with a plan to get her child back.

First, the kid is a bastard, he should not be heir, so forget about that plothole. I am sure they have it written in their constitution and like in the olden days when a king married and had kids they were not at all jealous that the bastard got the throne, lol.

King Galen is really alpha, I mean really alpha. He meets Solace again, sparks fly. She wants her son back. He does not want scandal as he told everyone the mother was dead. There is an uncle who wants the throne.

We all know they will get their HEA, and Galen is so alpha so he will make sure he gets his HEA, without scandal.

I did enjoy it. It was short, passionate and I always like fake royal countries

The narrator worked well and did a good job with this book

This felt heavier than I had expected.

Small southern town which seems to be filled with neonazis, racists, biggots, well you name it. And then Lula Dean gets the notion that books makes you gay, trans, everything that that is not Christian and right. So she bans most books from the library and opens her own little booklibrary thing on her front lawn.

The book is told in in many povs that gets their own chapter. Bad ones that think this is right, good ones that want to fight it, and then the middle people who I found interesting. The ones who went to see what crappy books she had and found other books inside. And those books changed their lives. They learned about rape, racism, antisemitism and wanted to change something in their lives.

An interesting book, and there is hope. Also for I really liked the epilogue for once. That one was cool

Maybe I should have started something else, but I sort of just continued listened, but I was not really feeling it.

Monroe and Juliet has a podcast. She also goes on bad dates. Then they inherit a house and he becomes her dating coach. Oh and they had a fling years ago.

Things heat up, but he has some issues that I never really got. She really liked him and tiny bit of drama ensues.

It was good at times, and at times I felt like I would not miss much if I fell asleep for 30 minutes. Lol, ok that sounds bad.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with the bright, big-hearted Juliet before our lives went in different directions.

I liked it. I wanted to know how they got there and if they could get back home? Or was it limbo? Were they dead? Maybe not since it is a romance.

Good narration too

This is book 2 and you definitely need to have read book 1. That one ended with quite some drama.

And she fell in love with a man who died long ago but possessed the prince. Told you it was a lot. Then that man had to leave and the prince was left with wtf? and he remembered and now Erin has to do what he says. And will she ever meet that man again? Remember he is dead...

Their journey will take them to the land that she fled long ago, where people might remember her. Also there are these spores that can kill you . She is also doing her best to protect her nephew who really looks like his mum. And his dad is after him.

They are running from a lot, their are fighting many. There is death and danger.

But you know the best part was the end, because after all this danger the end was like a warm blanket.

Great narration. Exciting story. And I would like more.

When the royal party finds themselves in a land they never believed they could access, it will take all of Prince Gevulin's (admittedly impressive) diplomatic skills to forge a coalition with an unlikely group of would-be allies.

It was good for what it was meant for. A short audiobook for when you need something short. Or as for me, when spotify does not tell me how much I have left! Is it 2 h and 59 min or 2 hours and 10 min. Ugh, spotify complain finished.

Right so Becca wants to work in this book store, she meets a hot guy on the train and he also wants the job. Then they have to share a hotel room too, and yes it is a short story so they get busy and things work out for them.

Contemporary romance

Short novella. I do like these. Things have to work fast.

Kristen tries online dating and meets this fun guy Cameron. They talk, the flirt, but when they meet for real something is wrong...

So I can´t tell you what, but Cameron is a good guy and someone really wants these two to find love with each other.

Fun, some intrigues. Some meddling people, and two people who live on different sides of the country. But this is romance and it all works out.

Cute and fun. Good narration

Kristen Leonard is done with setups. She’s not interested in your son or your nephew or your butcher or the guy who mows your lawn, thank you very much, grandma! After all, she’s a modern woman—she’ll take her chances on the algorithms of online dating to find her ideal man.
