Wildcard Wednesday/Thursday

Happy Wildcard Wednesday (well Thursday morning)!! ^.^

Sorry about the late posting, but Sarah and I went to visit Anee and her baby! When I got home I was sucked into my Sims 2 game and played for 2 hours. How pathetic?. I was a little upset because Sim Carole died from old age. =( Oh well, I'm on my 3rd generation now, so it's all okay. Yayy!

Anyways sorry about getting off topic, I can seriously discuss Sims for hours and hours and hours... Well this week I pulled the Hearts card, which means I will present something music and/or movie related. There's many things I want to share, so it took me a little while to narrow down the list, but I finally came up with two songs that I wanted to show:

First one is freshly uploaded by davidchoimusic who is singing his rendition of 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall' by Coldplay (I don't even like Coldplay AT all, but I really loved this version). For some reason this song brought up a part in 'The Two Towers' when -SPOILERish- Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli where running to find Merry and Pippin to save them from the Orcs who where taking them to Isengard-END of SPOILERish-. I'm not sure why though.:

This one was sent to me by a co-worker and I fell in love with this. Boyceavenue made his version of 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry. It's the boy version, I guess you can say. It's simply heart-melting and I bet your heart will melt when you listen to this (the guy isn't that bad looking either) This reminded me a little bit of the love that Aragorn has for Arwen:

Book Review: Our Hearts Fell the the Ground

I was a little disappointed when I opened the book due to the fact that it wasn't what I expected. When I was reading it, I felt like I was reading a college textbook. I felt like after I was done reading it, I would have to type up a report or do a test. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind education books, but I guess I was expecting something else entirely! I was expecting more of a story, but it was a collection of small stories, historical facts, and etc. 


It's a small book, but it took me a while to read; I had to force myself to read it at some points. Other than that, the book was great! Colin Calloway did a wonderful job collecting all this information and personal stories to create one book about how the West was lost. I especially loved all the tales from real life people who lived through it. I found it interesting to see the world from their eyes. He even referred to James Welch's novel Fools Crow! I was excited and marked the page, because I love that book! As you may recall, I read and made a review for that novel. Click HERE to see my review.


I especially loved how Colin Calloway ends the book on a sort of happy note. Instead of leaving the reader upset and angry on how America treated its Natives, he leaves you with a hopeful set of mind. Throughout the book he wasn't pointing fingers or accusing the 'Whites' for being cruel, he just gives the facts and that's that. I learned SO much about the Western Natives because of this book.


All-in-all, I did like this book. It was very informational and a nice change. Even though I was upset that it reminded me of college, I couldn't help but find it interesting. If I do have to write a paper about Western Natives, I will turn to this book for aid.  If you have to write a report about the West, check this book out too. Well,  out of five stars I grant this one 4 stars. I do recommend this book to those that want a change in their reading or if they have any interest in American history.

PS- Oooh! With this completed reading and review, I finally finished a reading challenge! Yayy! I feel like I actually accomplished something. ^.^

Music Monday & Movie of the Week!

Happy Mondays everybody! I hope that your Monday is the beginning of an amazing week!

At the end of the post I'm going to announce the next Movies of the Week. ^.^ It took me a while to decide, but I finally made up my mind. Well, lets begin, shall we?

First, this is my new favorite song of the moment. It was a close second to 'Rolling in the Deep' by Adele, but this has quickly taken over me. It's even my texting ringtone. I'm not a huge fan of the video, but I adore the song. The song is 'The Lazy Song' by Bruno Mars:

The next Movie of the Week is *drum rolls*..................Anne of The Thousand Days! I've  heard many good reviews about this one, but I personally never seen this film. I have high expectations for this movie because of all the hype and because I'm very picky about my Anne Boleyn movies/books. I don't know why.... However, I'm excited because I really like Genevieve Bujold as an actress. There isn't really any official trailer for this movie, but I've picked a fan-made video, that I simply adore! Sunday Ketchup Week 2!

~'Sunday Ketchup' was inspired by The Muse in the Fog's 'Suddenly Sunday' postings. However, mine are going to be a little bit different. Also when I went to spell 'Catchup' I accidentally spelled it wrong and put 'Ketchup'. I thought it was cute, so I kept it. Also, I'm addicted to ketchup! I want one of those ketchup shirts that says "I <3 Ketchup". Wouldn't that be cute? Every week, or whenever I remember, I'm going to post events that happened this past week, things coming up next week, updates, and news.
